Versus has green-lit Sports Jobs with Junior Seau, with the NFL all-pro linebacker taking on less glamorous tasks in the sports world. The series, similar to Discovery’s Dirty Jobs, will have Seau act as a cornerman in a UFC fight, be a batboy at a Dodgers game and serve as a member of a pit crew in an Indy Car race, among other activities. The half-hour series is set to premiere December 2 at 10:00 PM/ET. The first season will air 10 episodes.

Versus will begin broadcasting the NHL on October 1. The network was pulled off DirecTV on September 1 and the two have been in a contentious disagreement over rights fees and whether DirecTV can put Versus on a pay-only digital tier. Dish TV, looking to cash in on the fight, has offered Versus free to subscribers for three months.

congratulations on the new series Junior i will be watching it. it is always nice to see when family is doing good not just for themselves but also the people around them such as the foundation. its a great thing that your doing with the foundation and the work it does for the community. very rarely do you have an individual such as Junior comeback to his home town and help the less previledged families. its very heart felt when all that money and fame doesnt steer a person from knowing where he came from and the struggles that he endured as a youth himself. good work cuz god bless and lots of love to the family.
