USA Renews Burn Notice For Two More Seasons

The network announced that they are renewing the the series for not one, but two additional seasons, which would be the show’s fifth and sixth seasons. The network is showing a lot of confidence in the show by renewing ahead of the season four premiere set to air this summer. Network executivess say seasons five and six will run a minimum of 15 and 18 episodes, respectively. Season four is shooting in Miami and season five will begin production in about a year.
The Jeffrey Donovan vehicle has been a ratings powerhouse since its premiere in June 2007. Including same-week DVR play, Burn Notice closed out its third season season averaging 7.1 million viewers and 3.3 million in the 18-49 demographic. The final episode had 6.1 million tuning in. USA has also bought the off-network rights to the six seasons of the show, which will begin airing in October 2011. And MyNetwork TV just announced it will has picked up repeats of Burn Notice to run Wednesdays beginning in the fall.
