USA Network Renews Burn Notice And Royal Pains

The pickups follow both series leading USA Network cable’s most-watched network after finishing first during the second-quarter ratings race. In recent airings, Burn Notice (now in its third season) pulled in a robust 7.3 million total viewers, while freshman breakout Royal Pains drew an equally strong 7.1 million.
Burn Notice, starring Jeffrey Donovan, is being picked up for a fourth season. The show it helped launch, the Mark Feuerstein-starring medical soap Royal Pains, is being renewed for a second season.
Burn Notice, in my opinion, is without a doubt the best show on tv; and I have friends and relatives who agree. The problem is that each season just about the time I settle into the show with some momentum, whoops we’re at the final episode. The ridiculously low number of episodes renders the show into little more than a tease. I thought that was going to change when I read on the Burn Notice web site a few months ago that you were promising 16 episodes this summer. Imagine my frustration and aggravation when it turned out to be only 9 episodes yet again. With a winner like this you really should consider turning the show into a legitmate series, instead of having us look over our shoulder each week for that dreaded final episode announcement. Come on guys, show us a little commitment.
