TNT has decided against renewing Raising the Bar for a third season says Kristin@E!Online. The network expects to air the three remaining episodes in March 2010. The series is about a group of New York City public defenders and city district attorneys who studied law together and now face off in the courtroom. Raising the Bar costarred Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Jane Kaczmarek, J. August Richards and Melissa Sagemiller.

Raising the Bar premiered to 7.7 million viewers last fall, but the second-season premiere was down to 3.6 million, which was less than half the viewership of lead-in The Closer. Ratings performance through the second season was lackluster at best, and the by-the-numbers plots never received much critical acclaim.

So glad to see the show is being cancelled – to be continually assaulted by the fact that the legal system squashes the innocent or has no compassion or understanding for anyone except for those with money. I just watched an episode where an innocent man had his bail upped to $250,000 because the judge wanted it to be. Enough is enough – I removed the show from my watched recordings and immediately came in here to voice a compaint. I am glad you removed a show where the people I was rooting for got squashed every week. Thanks for the cancellation. Maybe the good guys will win sometime – I certainly hope so, ciao!
