TLC Bringing Back Jon And Kate Plus 8 For Fifth Season

The popular show that attracted record ratings for its March 23 finale will join a busy roster of returning programs, such as 18 Kids and Counting, A Baby Story, American Chopper, What Not to Wear, and Little People, Big World.
The cable network has also introduced a host of new series – more than 19 in all – that will help fill its schedule in the coming year. They include The Little Couple (a series about newlyweds Bill Klein and Jen Arnold, both of whom are under 4-feet tall); Freakin Fabulous With Clinton Kelly (a fashion show based on his book of the same name); Making Over America With Trinny & Susannah (featuring the original U.K. hosts of What Not to Wear), The General (featuring an interior-designer-turned-contractor), and Mom, Inc. (a new series from Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos that helps struggling entrepreneurs).
I love these shows little people big world,18 kids & counting,table for 12,and was wondering when does the 5 th season of jon and kate plus 8 start? I recently bought their books & the duggars book. I love these family shows. I’m 63, a widow with 2 grown sons & I live alone with my 4 pets,( 2 cats & 2 dogs.)
I’ve lost most of my family, so it’s very enjoyable to watch these families raise their families. looking forward to the newly married duggar’s start their
family. my cousin also watches some of these shows & then we talk about them.

Jodi — who is married to Kate’s brother, Kevin — was a popular fixture on Jon & Kate Plus 8, often babysitting the brood, cooking with them, playing dress-up, even taking the kids overnight. Until she suddenly vanished from the series, leaving viewers wondering if she’d moved or died. Last June, Jodi’s sister Julie unraveled the mystery, blogging that TLC had finally decided to compensate Jodi for appearing on the show, at which point, she says, Kate lost it, insisting that only she and Jon be paid. Soon, Jodi — along with Kevin, another regular — was gone. In a video posted on Julie’s blog, Jodi confirms that the website is accurate. “Sometimes,” she says, “the truth is hard to hear, and this is one of those situations.” The TLC camp says that Julie’s account is inaccurate.
Beth Carson, once one of Kate’s best friends — she often watched the kids and traveled with the family on the show — endured a similar unpleasant departure from the series. (Though Carson pretty much wrote Multiple Blessings, poeticizing Kate’s anecdotes keystroke by keystroke, Kate is almost always referred to as the book’s sole author.) Jenny the babysitter, another fan fave, also no longer works for the Gosselins; a confidentiality agreement blocks her from explaining why. All of this has left former friends of the Gosselins who have been shoved out of the family’s life both puzzled and concerned. One is worried because she claims Beth and Jodi often “were the ones on set taking that role [of looking out for the children’s well-being], telling the film crew, ‘Okay, they need lunch’ and ‘You’ll get your shot later.’”

I’m very surprised that a station of such high caliber would continue showing episodes of Jon & Kate plus 8. This show has evolved from an interesting premise of watching a couple with the help of family and friends raise a large family to a loud mouth blonde constantly talking about her stuff (My Home, My Kitchen, My Bedroom) blah blah blah. The decision to focus only on Jon, Kate & the children without the outside help of family and friends have parked this show into a box. It is almost a bragging form to show other families how they are able to take their children on adventures that are private with special support provided as well as Kate’s special trips for lipo, hair, clothing with little regard to the cost. It is not a show that most that have large families could relate to in the tiniest medium. Factor in the reluctance of Jon to continue I vote *good for him*. It is time to stop making the show about Kate’s control and take the cameras away and let the children grow with the supervision of both parents before this blows up into a mess. So c’mon TLC, this is your opportunity to give that family a chance. You have plenty of other families who are as interesting but seem to be more normal showing us everyday life in a more realistic environment, but yet one that is a family working together, rather than a blonde dictator calling all shots.
i love that show and want it to return. thats why its the best , they have problems like any other family. YOU ROCK JON AND KATE PLUS 8. AND THERE NOT RUNNING FROM THERE PROBLEMS THERE GONNA JUSTIFY THEM IN THERE SERIES IM SURE.
Wonder if TLC will air Jon ’s latest womanizing escapade? Has Kate’s rising rage driven her man into the arms of other women? Just how close are Jon’s lady friends, especially girls volley ball team from nearby college?
Get rid of John and Kate. She says she’s just a mom trying to raise her kids. NO she’s not. Someone else is doing the work while she is reaping all the glory. Their life is not a true example of all the other large families. Enough is enough!!!
It’s time for the show to end. Now that the world can see what a horrible, hateful mess this has become, please let’s not turn this into a Jerry Springer spin-off.
Just cancel your contract Kate, and eventually your lives will return to safety, security and solace.
Your fifteen minutes were good while they lasted. But, truly, sadly, the party is over.

I was reading a magazine were it says that there were looking to remove the kids from Kate side, because she was abusing there rights, I do not understand how she is doing that, in that case all the celebrities that have a show like this one should be punish, because there kids come out in the show too, all this is happening because Jon wants a peace of what ever that is, and because he is tired of Kate and he want to have fun and liberty. I understand that, but think about it she is the way she is bossy, and perfectionist because with 8 kids you have to as a mother is the way showing responsibility and commitment to the kids like this they will have a better future, everything these kids have is because Kate, Jon not so much because in the show he always make his faces for everything and anything he had to do etc..KATE DON’T BE AFRAID, BELIEVE ME YOU ARE BETTER ALONE WITH YOUR KIDS AND THERE IS A GOD THAT IS GOING TO HELP YOU, THERE ALWAYS BE PROBLEMS THEY AFFECTS US A LOT, BUT THE MAKE YOU STRONGER JUST HAVE FAITH IN GOD AND ON YOUR SELVES. I WISH YOU THE BEST ALWAYS AND FOREVER AND KEEP GOING FORWARD FOR YOU AND YOUR KIDS.
TLC NEEDS TO CANCEL THIS SHOW. KATE SAID SHE WANTED TO DO THE SHOW SO THAT SHE AND JON COULD CAPTURE MEMORIES OF THE CHILDREN WHEN THEY WERE YOUNG. SOMETHING THEY COULD LOOK BACK ON FONDLY. YOUR ALSO CAPTURING MEMORIES THE CHILDREN WON’T WANT TO RE-LIVE. MOMMY AND DADDYS MARRIAGE FALLING APART. MOMMY TREATING DADDY LIKE A DOG. MOMMY AND DADDY GETTING A DIVORCE. TURN OFF THE CAMERAS. SOME MEMORIES ARE WORTH RELIVING, AND THIS IS ONE OF THEM. YOU CAN’T HONESTLY BELIEVE THIS IS A MEMORY THAT YOU WANT YOUR KIDS TO RE-LIVE OR REMEMBER.
Please, let these kids try to find a “normal” life. Close down the production of this seriously flawed show. Kate can’t get enough publicity to suit herself. She is a pig.
I am appalled that TLC would continue to air “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ or whatever flavor it is this week.
TLC is trying to portray “poor” Kate as a martyr and Jon as a deadbeat dad who has abandoned his family. Sorry, but the way Kate treated her husband for years in front of the camera and in front of the country was equally as appalling as TLC continuing to air such a farce as this TV show. No wonder Jon left. Not that he’s a saint, but she treated him for years as her 9th child.
They both need to grow up and move on. I pity their children. They have the demise of their parent’s marriage recorded on DVD for posterity.
