[SpoilerTV]
Desperate Housewives
This Sunday’s flashback-filled episode will spell out much of what transpired during the five-year jump, including Gabrielle’s “miracle babies.” And don’t go putting Penny on a milk carton just yet; you must have blinked-and-missed her in one of this season’s first episodes. [TV Guide]
Eli Stone
Kerr Smith will be “coming on board as a senior attorney who is a good foil for Maggie. [Kristin@E!Online]
Executive producer Marc Guggenheim says Katey Sagal will be back in the second episode, but “we do end up losing her a couple of episodes in because of Sons of Anarchy.” [Kristin@E!Online]

This is Smash’s last week in Dillon, and his goodbye will break your heart. Also heartbreaking? Of course, Tyra and Landry are officially not together, but it feels like a bad breakup just the same. [Kristin@E!Online]

Producers are aiming for a “slow burn” between Olivia and Peter. Olivia’s boyfriend, John, just died a few weeks ago, and he is currently haunting her. So she’s busy. She’s overcome by the electrical forces within her, and when she can’t find HRG to help her, she goes with the next best thing: Claire. Next week Claire and Elle try to team up against Pinehearst—but first they have to overcome the fact that they hate each other. [Kristin@E!Online]

How I Met Your Mother
Sarah Chalke’s last episode airs November 3. [Michael Ausiello]
Law and Order: Criminal Intent
Jeff Goldblum doesn’t appear in the November 7 season opener. Goldblum-as-cop is a cool customer. I hear his character’s parents were both shrinks, so clearly it will be revealed that he, too, is a total nut job. [TV Guide]

The Unit
Angel Wainwright will return to The Unit as Betsy Blane sometime this season. [TV Guide]
Although Nicole Steinwedell started the season as a recurring guest star, sources confirm to me exclusively that she’s now an official series regular. Word is that the actress was introduced in part to make the show more enticing to women, particularly now that CBS has paired The Unit with the female-skewing Cold Case. But executive producer Shawn Ryan says Bridget serves a creative purpose as well. “The show was feeling like two different parts – the male-mission part and the women-at-home part,” he says. “Injecting this character into both sides of it, to us, has made the show feel a little bit more connected.” [Michael Ausiello]

The show is having some guest roles in the remaning episodes of the first season: Michelle Forbes as a local meddler, Stephen Root as a vampire victim and Zeljko Ivanek as a vampire judge. [Kristin@E!Online]
