“I think we’re going to probably do the film when we stop doing the series, [but] I don’t know when it’s going to be,” says Kiefer Sutherland. “I’ve loved making this show and I’ve always said that the audience ultimately will dictate and tell you when it’s time to stop.” [Kristin@E!Online]

Regarding the seemingly miraculous upcoming resurrection of Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard), executive producer Jon Cassar teases, “You will totally believe that he was alive when you see the unbelievably great explanation of what happened with Tony Almeida. And no, he’s not a bionic man.” [Kristin@E!Online]

The prequel is set in Africa (a fictional country called Sengela), but the new season is set in Washington, D.C. Executive producer Howard Gordon says moving out of L.A. adds intensity: “There is a reason why thrillers tend to be set in Washington, D.C., because what’s at stake is represented iconically in Washington. The power and intuitions that have been threatened are there.” [Kristin@E!Online]

Says executive producer Jon Cassar, “Cherry Jones plays our new female president. What you get in the prequel—which is also very interesting and I’ve never seen it before—is one president saying goodbye and the other president starting. Basically the prequel takes place on the inauguration day in Washington, and at the same time, in real time, [Jack is] in Africa.” [Kristin@E!Online]

Jon Voight as Jonas Hodges is all over the prequel movie, will also be on the series for the larger part of the season and is “involved in a Blackwater-type organization,” according to executive producer Jon Cassar. Says Voight: “Obviously this guy is a villain and he’s a very serious villain. This is a very bad fellow.” So will he die a very bad death? “I deserve to,” says Voight with a laugh. “Whether justice will prevail or not, we will see.” [Kristin@E!Online]

Bones

The premiere, which has filmed in locations at Wrotham Park, Greenwich, Canary Wharf and the Guildhall, will see Brennan and Booth attempt to solve the murder of an American girl. [Hart] Hanson explained: “It has a slight Upstairs, Downstairs aspect to it, with servants and royalty and the class system. An heiress with an American father is yanked from the Thames in her Range Rover. Brennan and Booth are here lecturing. Booth is lecturing at Scotland Yard and Brennan is lecturing at Oxford about working with cops. The murder happens… the FBI would have jurisdiction over it if Scotland Yard invited them.” [Digital Spy]

Chuck

When Casey answers a knock at the door by a man dressed in a Fed-Ex uniform, the man gives him the correct verification code but then surprises Casey, leaving him coughing up blood. His partner then tells him they have two more targets and shows him pictures of Sarah and Chuck. [SpoilerFix.com]

Desperate Housewives

Despite being banished in the latest season finale by the other four women, Edie (Nicollette Sheridan) will be moving back to Wisteria Lane at the start of season five and bringing with Neal McDonough. But he’s hardly just a pretty face. Exec producer Sabrina Wind revealed, “Edie and Neal’s character carry the new mystery with them.” [Kristin@E!Online]

Bree (Marcia Cross) is “Martha Stewart right at the beginning before she became a national phenomenon,” revealed Wind. And Daily added: “When you tune into the first episode, you will see she is on the verge of publishing her first cookbook. She is going from being a local celebrity to potentially being a celebrity on a bigger scale. And her son is sort of her right-hand man slash consigliore. As for her love life: “One of the things we’ll be answering in the first couple of episodes is how did Orson (Kyle MacLachlan) and Bree end up back together again,” teased Daily. [Kristin@E!Online]

“Lynette’s primary drive is going from being the mother of troublemakers to potentially juvenile delinquents to potentially incarcerated.” The new storyline is likely to develop a tween-girl following, thanks to the casting of the Scavos’ evil twins, Max and Charlie Carver. “They really do look like young Matt Damons,” Wind said. [Kristin@E!Online]

Eli Stone

Katie Holmes is returning to the small screen this fall on ABC’s sophomore drama, Eli Stone. A spokesperson for the show declined to comment, but sources say Holmes is on board for one episode. [Michael Ausiello]

Grey’s Anatomy

Things are awkward between Callie and Erica when Grey’s returns. [TV Guide]

Heroes

“There’s an event at the Company that releases a while host of Level 5 prisoners – all very dangerous killers – but ‘Villains’ will cast a much wider net than that. We’ll explore the darkness and villainy in everybody. Even the good guys. Each has a line – what does it take for them to cross it?” [says Zachary Quinto.] The season premiere picks right up after last December’s cliff-hanger, when Nathan was shot by an assassin and Niki seemingly died in an explosion. Hiro inherits his late father’s business empire and gets a new nemesis, Daphne, who moves at supersonic speed. Meredith returns to teach daughter Claire how to protect herself after an attack by Sylar. But who’s going to protect her in the future? A flash-forward in time finds a very different Claire Bear. “She becomes mean, damaged and kinda nuts – the 180-degree opposite of the character we know,” Panettiere reports. “Future Claire is a real badass.” [TV Guide]

House

House and Wilson’s relationship will be most prickly in the aftermath of Amber’s death, Hugh Laurie said at Fox’s TCA party. But the interesting part, says the Brit, will be how that fractured friendship is slowly rebuilt. [TV Guide]

Kyle XY

Ally Sheedy will be returning to ABC Family’s Kyle XY — for at least the premiere, but then maybe not again until the finale. [TV Guide]

Prison Break

The crew is going to spend alot of time in a warehouse and it may feel like a prison to them. Agent Lang is set to make an appearance. The relationships with Mahone will be interesting. There will be times when there might be some conflict but Michael and Mahone have an understanding and a hesitant respect of each other and what the other can do. Lincoln and Mahone will be more interesting but they may even find something to bring them closer together. New character Wyatt works for the company and reports to Padman. He is an assassin and he is very very good at what he does. [SpoilerFix.com]

The boys will be staging a break-in (instead of breakout). Word is, they’re trying to get into a building owned by the Treasury Department, and I’m guessing it has something to do with taking down the Company, which is their ticket to unconditional freedom, offered by government agent Michael Rapaport. [SpoilerFix.com]

Michael and Sara are together in 4.03, with Lincoln, Sucre, Mahone and Roland. [SpoilerFix.com]

[How Michael gets his tattoo removed will be explained in the season premiere.] There are events that happen in the first episode that will bring the brothers back together. James Hiroyuki Liao will appear as Roland Glenn in season 4. It looks like Sasha Alexander will be in episode 4.01 as Shannon Andersen. You will find out why Bruce is there in the first episode. [Spoiler TV]

The gang breaks into a ’safe’ at the Treasury Dep’t. Gretchen kills one of Wyatt’s guards and escapes. Mahone is on Wyatt’s trail. [SpoilerFix.com]

Gretchen hides out at her sister Rita’s place. Also living there is Gretchen’s 5-year-old daughter, who believes Rita is her mother. The gang gets up to some tomfoolery at a horse race. [SpoilerFix.com]

Bellick is working with Lincoln, T-Bag, and going by the name Cole Pfieffer. He’ll be meeting up with Shan Xing (who works for The Man), and who is offered 100 million in exchange for the ‘book’. [SpoilerFix.com]

Smallville

Chloe says yes to Jimmy’s proposal, setting the stage for a possible wedding later this season. [Michael Ausiello]

The new season begins several months after the events of the Season 7 finale. Casting is currently underway for “Kat,” a young, eager assistant for Tess, who also makes her first appearance in this episode; and “Nikolai,” a man who works on a boat with Clark near the Arctic. Roles also now being cast include a Researcher, a Scientist, and a Guard. Clark is brought home by some possibly-surprising rescuers. Oliver Queen (Justin Hartley) returns in this episode. The “Researcher,” “Scientist,” and “Guard” roles are involved with Chloe’s storyline. When Clark returns to Metropolis, he’ll have a big surprise for Lois. [Krypton Site]

Supernatural

“This season opens with some bombshells!” teases creator Eric Kripke. [...] Season 4 opens four months later, when Dean wakes up with no memory of his torment. “What happened to Dean in Hell and to younger brother Sam whe he had to be a hunter by himself will slowly come to light,” Kripke says. “It gives us a nice opportunity for an internal struggle for Dean and for the brothers to surprise each other.” Katie Cassidy (Ruby) and Lauren Cohan (Bela) are both gone, but Jim Beaver and Steven Williams are back as geezer demon fighters Bobby and Rufus. Get set for a revealing flashback to the Winchester parents’ teen years, an homage to 1930s monter flicks and a bloody Halloween show. [TV GUide]

Without A Trace

Anthony LaPaglia has a new foe, and his name is… Steven Weber. He has booked a four-episode arc on Without a Trace. Little is known about his character, except that he’ll be a thorn in the side of LaPaglia’s Jack Malone. [Michael Ausiello]
