Castle
Season 2’s opening scene finds Det. Beckett more than a little annoyed at Castle’s celebrity as he celebrates the release of his new book with a story in Cosmopolitan… and two women dressed in skimpy police uniforms. Speaking of Cibrian’s alter ego, executive producer Ann Donahue says reports that he’ll be transferring from the Hollywood division is “a misnomer . . . He’s actually worked robbery homicide in L.A.” (Michael Ausiello)
“We find him in the first two minutes and he is unconscious,” reveals Ann Donahue, who adds that the flashback portion of the episode begins while he’s en route to the hospital. “The ambulance is hurtling down alligator alley and we [close in] on the license plate, which says ‘09. And then we change the license plate to ‘97 and suddenly he’s in his tow truck.” (Michael Ausiello)

The show is casting three new series regulars and one recurring guest star.
Vince: A charming yet dangerous East Dillon junior. He’s African-American and, when we first meet him, he’s running from the cops. Look for Coach Taylor to put his speed to better use as a member of the Lions. Series regular.

Grey’s Anatomy
Remember the haunting image of an army-clad George waiting outside the elevator for Izzie in the season finale? Well, it wasn’t supposed to be George standing there. The scene was originally shot with Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Denny playing the role of Izzie’s heavenly escort. But as Grey’s boss Shonda Rhimes said, “I received the first cut [of the finale] on a Friday and something didn’t feel right. All weekend long something was bugging me. And then I woke up Monday morning and it hit me, ‘My God, it’s George! When the elevator opens, it should be George we see.” (Michael Ausiello)
The September 24 opener will find both Izzie and disfigured George still coding. Over the two-hour premiere, watch for the outcome of this traumatic scenario to weigh heavily on a lot of people — including at least one doctor whose reaction you may have taken for granted. (TV Guide)

Nurse Jackie
The next six episodes of Nurse Jackie begin to spotlight another lady of All-Saints: Eve Best’s Dr. O’Hara. It turns out O’Hara’s life isn’t as carefree as her breezy manner would have you believe. In episode 14 of this show, “Lush,” we’ll meet Gloria Rush, the late wife of Robert Carlyle’s character Nic Rush. Apparently she was a concert violinist who died of cancer two and a half years ago, and Nic has never deal with her death. Says the casting call: She was beautiful and tragically struck down in what should have been the high time of her life. She was successful in the thing she loved doing most, in love, and happy. Her only regret was that they could not have children but then, considering how young she would die, she would later admit it may have been for the better. She was the light of Rush’s life and her death has left him bitter, cold and somewhat willing to take risks with his own life that he never would have when she was alive. Her death has also driven him to become even more obsessed with uncovering the mysteries of the universe. And in episode 14, Nic Rush does an experiment with the ship’s computer that causes him to flash back to the time when Gloria was dying, which was also when he was recruited into the Stargate program.
