Chuck
The Orange Orange might morph into a Subway next season. (Michael Ausiello)
Entourage
Season 6 (debuting Sunday, July 12 on HBO) fast-forwards past the filming of Scorsese’s Gatsby remake. In the first episode, in fact, Vince pays Jay Leno a visit to promote the flick. Jamie-Lynn Sigler is still in the picture — and will be for much of the season, as a very different Turtle emerges from his shell. (TV Guide)
Flash Forward
Wherever you think this show is going after the first episode, you’ll be wrong. There are three “acts” to the first season, and the first “act” consists of the first seven episodes, in which the pieces are all moved out onto the board. And each of those first seven episodes contains at least one “holy shit, I didn’t see that coming” moment, where you’ll realize things are way different than you thought. Also, the first “flashforward” that everyone sees takes them to April 29, 2010 — which isn’t when the season finale airs. So we’ll actually catch up to the flashforwards before the season ending. Also, Seth MacFarlane’s character, Agent Kirby, will be recurring. And the kangaroo you see on the street in the pilot will also be back. (The Futon Critic)
Also, you’ll see early on that characters lie about what they saw in their “flashes,” or withhold some information. (Time)
Gossip Girl
Blair catches Chuck connecting with a model in the September 14 premiere, but all is not as it appears. (Michael Ausiello)
Hawthorne
The hospital director agrees to take on patients that would normally go to a now-closed ER at another hospital; one of Camille’s study partners is brought in to the ER; Christina wonders if Camille is doing drugs. (SpoilerTV)
House
The two-hour One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest-inspired season premiere will feature only two of the show’s main players: House and Wilson. Everyone else will show up the following week. (Michael Ausiello)
Hung
Great Sausage or Can I Call You Dick? – JULY 12, 2009
In an effort to market Ray (Thomas Jane) as a high-end “happiness consultant,” Tanya (Jane Adams) tracks down former law-firm colleague Lenore (Rebecca Kreskoff), who agrees to take Ray for a test ride in exchange for the names and numbers of wealthy women. Meanwhile, Jessica’s (Anne Heche) obsessive behavior grates on her kids, who push Ray to fix his fire-damaged house. A contractor promises Ray a “wolf pack” discount for repairs, but money mismanagement has Ray strapped for cash. That all could change after Ray’s session with Lenore – or so he and Tanya hope. (HBO)
Strange Friends or The Truth Is, You’re Sexy – Airing July 19, 2009
Ray’s fortunes, at low ebb after the Lenore debacle, sink further when his nosy neighbor Howard Koontz (Loren Lester) accuses him of public indecency. Fed up with Jessica’s maternal meddling, Damon (Charlie Saxton) and Darby (Sianoa Smit-McPhee) yearn to go back to their dad, but progress on the home-repair front remains stalled. Likewise, Ray and Tanya’s frayed partnership seems to be dead in the water – until a last-minute proposal resurrects their dreams. (HBO)
The Pickle Jar – Airing July 26, 2009
West Lakefield students choose “Coach Ray” to be the recipient of their fall fundraising efforts, but Ray sees their pickle-jar donation as an embarrassing metaphor for his downward spiral. All is not lost, however – Tanya has a couple of leads that could jumpstart Ray’s gigolo career. But is Ray ready, willing and able enough to follow through? Meanwhile, Damon is shattered when he rushes to his sister’s defense during drive-in family night, only to learn that Darby doesn’t want his help. (HBO)
In Plain Sight
Brandi (Nichole Hiltz) is thrown in the slammer in this Sunday’s new episode of In Plain Sight. While the FBI is looking to put Brandi in jail for upward of 25 years, even charging her with being involved with Mary’s kidnapping, they’re also threatening to charge Mary as a coconspirator. (Watch With Kristin)
Lincoln Heights
Nicki Micheaux (Jenn Sutton) and Russell Hornsby (Eddie Sutton) recently said that the show could be changing ZIP codes. “[It's] very much a possibility,” says Russell. “There was a big earthquake in the season finale,” explains Nicki. “So we’re waiting on our FEMA money so we can make repairs on our house, like so many people in places in the States, so the dilemma is what are we going to do? Maybe we should just move.” (Watch With Kristin)
Lost
Shannon (Maggie Grace) may be making a return visit to the island next season, despite being dead. At least, Grace said she’s going back to Hawaii soon. (Watch With Kristin)
NCIS
Why, did it look like Ziva was on death’s doorstep in that secretly filmed torture scene? If so, think back to what NCIS boss Shane Brennan said about that grim cliff-hanger: Come September, “all will be revealed and you will be surprised. It will come at you from left field.” But, in a word: Yes. Sources whisper that Cote will be back. (TV Guide)

She does way more than look, and as she’s about to kill her dad, Bill comes in to save the day. But he’s pissed at Sookie for the mess she created. (Watch With Kristin)

Rebuffed by Tara in her relocation efforts, Maryann decides to cast her spell on the staff of Merlotte’s, softening Tara up towards her new “family.” Eric shares a little-known secret about his past with Bill, and Sookie makes a decision that might solve the Godric mystery – or get her killed. (Michael Ausiello)
