The Spoiler Roundup 05.21.09
May 21st, 2009 | 0 Comments | Email | Share | TweetWelcome to the Spoiler Roundup, the most comprehensive weekly spoiler wrapup on the internet. We scour the web for all the best spoilers on some of the most popular shows on the air.
This Week: Bones, Chuck, Dollhouse, Fringe, Glee, Gossip Girl, Grey’s Anatomy, NCIS, Scrubs and The Cleaner.
Bones
We have not seen the last of Booth’s brother, Jared. “They’re just starting to write next season now, but I would imagine he’ll pop up,” says Emily Deschanel. Noting that Jared’s affinity for Temperance was “not exactly resolved” by season’s end – and progressed not at all during the surreal finale – she believes “it would make sense for him to come back.” (TV Guide)
Chuck
Chuck having the Intersect in his head will severely complicate their [Chuck and Sarah] ability to be a couple . . . [And] look for a potential new love interest on the show. Someone who could triangulate between a couple of characters. (Michael Ausiello)
So how exactly will the budget cuts affect this show’s format? Some episodes, Chuck’s mission may be such that we don’t get to visit the Buy More at all, says producer Josh Schwartz. But Anna (Julia Ling) will definitely be back, and so hopefully will the rest of the ensemble cast. The good news is, Chuck, Sarah and Casey will still appear in every episode. Schwartz hasn’t yet worked out the details of the Subway product placement (which he calls the “Subway integration”) but it will be significant, and may be something like Sarah working at a Subway. The new season will definitely deal with the ramifications of the end of season two, but fear not – Chuck will still be an Everyman/accidental hero. (Michael Ausiello)
Dollhouse
Now that Amy Acker’s Happy Town was picked up, Joss Whedon says he’ll be “sending [Happy producers] chocolate and flowers,” he laughs. “We’re desperate to have her.” (Michael Ausiello)
Whedon doesn’t want to put another doctor in the d’house. Only if “we find out that we’re not going to use her for the bulk of the season” would he do that, he says. “[But] everyone is not going to be in every episode, so it’s perfectly possible that there will just be stories that don’t involve Dr. Saunders.” (Michael Ausiello)
Fringe
According to executive producer Jeff Pinkner, “like all things on Fringe, there is more to this story than meets the eye.” In fact Pinkner not only confirms that Acevedo “was not fired,” he hints that we’ll see more Agent Francis in season 2. Literally. “We have already seen two of him on the show,” teases Pinkner. “We have already met the second Charlie. He had a scar on his face.” Looks like The Observer wasn’t messing around when he said that there’s more than one of everything. (TV Guide)
Walter will slowly regain his memory, with setbacks. (SciFi Wire)
The Observer’s role will be explored more, without giving everything away. (SciFi Wire)
Roberto Orci talking about the second season: “You have a gigantic clue to what has been a potential organizing principle or source of the Pattern and what these weird events are. In some way, two worlds are colliding, so that sets up the potential for a wonderful exploration of how these things interact, who William Bell is, is he good or bad, and is Nina [Blair Brown] friend or foe? You are going to see the Fringe division come under more intense scrutiny and therefore have to operate more clandestinely. You are going to see Peter become more engaged as he discovers some of the things the audience has found out.” (SciFi Wire)
Glee
Will is not going to cheat on his psycho wife – even though it’s obvious that he and Emma are made for one another. (Michael Ausiello)
Gossip Girl
Producers thought ahead and made sure Michelle Trachtenberg negotiated a three-episode Gossip Girl “out” in her Mercy contract so she could appear as Georgina next season. (Michael Ausiello)
Grey’s Anatomy
TR Knight may be leaving the show, but George may remain. After being mangled in the season finale, some plastic surgery could lead to a “new George”. (Michael Ausiello)
NCIS
Cote de Pablo (Ziva) will be back next season. But she’ll be a changed woman. (Michael Ausiello)
Scrubs
Sarah Chalke isn’t looking to return full time, per Bill Lawrence. “I would’ve had Sarah in a heartbeat,” he says. “I think she’s got enough going on in her career [right now]. I’d say it’s 50-50 she’s in some episodes. I know she’ll at least be in one or two.” (Michael Ausiello)
Now that ABC passed on Donald Faison’s comedy pilot, The Law, Bill Lawrence will go with the “Turk teaching at med school” premise he’s been kicking around. (Michael Ausiello)
The Cleaner
The show returning to the airwaves June 23, with a season premiere that guest stars Whoopi Goldberg. The episode also finds Bratt’s William Banks moving back in with his family, but not for the reason you might expect. And it features Gary Cole, Office Space’s Lumbergh, playing a news anchor tempted to relapse. (TV Guide)
