30 Rock
Look for Liz to channel her inner Angelina when she decides to adopt a world-weary Russian kid in an attempt to ease her misplaced liberal guilt. And this adoption may take: I hear the kid could be around all next season. [Michael Ausiello]
Matthew Broderick is set to guest star in an upcoming episode of NBC’s 30 Rock. He is set to play Cooter, an enthusiastic, clean-cut government employee who befriends Jack (Alec Baldwin). [TV Guide]
Battlestar Galactica
In the second half of Season 4 (airing whenever): Starbuck will become inexplicably drawn to a handsome, charismatic, slick and mysterious piano player over the course of two episodes. The two will become so connected that she’ll find herself telling him things no one else knows. [Michael Ausiello]
Beverly Hills, 90210 Spinoff
A glance at Rob Thomas’ script for the pilot tells me that Hannah Zuckerman-Vasquez (the spawn of Andrea and Jesse) now helms the news desk at the “West Beverly Blaze,” which is now apparently a TV show. Also roaming the halls of West Bev is Kelly Taylor, who teaches fashion design. (Wait, wasn’t Donna the fashion designer? Oh right, she’s now the proprietress of Bao Thai.) Whether or not Jennie Garth would ever sign on to be this show’s “Nat” is unclear. The pilot also reveals that one of the protagonists is David Silver’s niece (but wasn’t David an only child before the arrival of little Erin?). Navid, the Persian guy who runs the TV station, says he doesn’t drink because of his religion: Scientology. [Michael Ausiello]
Bones
Facing an abbreviated schedule, the producers have focused on paying off big plotlines. The Gormogon story, says executive producer Hart Hanson, has “a shocking and unexpected finale.” And Angela finally finds her husband, though “merry mix-ups will ensue.” Hanson also hopes to shoot in England with former guest star Stephen Fry and some yet-to-be-booked Brits. [TV Guide]
Brothers and Sisters
Sarah asks a heartbroken Saul to respect her decision. Nora goes through Wlliam’s old files to try to find a financial save from Sarah’s situation. Rebecca wonders at Justin’s odd behavior when they see a movie together. Kitty and Robert are at first disappointed that the fertility treatments haven’t yet succeeded, but then decide to try the old-fashioned way. [SpoilerFix.com]
Burn Notice
The second season will premiere Thursday, July 10, at 10 pm/ ET. [Michael Ausiello]
Desperate Housewives
Desperate Housewives resumes its season on April 13, several months will have passed for the residents of Wisteria Lane. “Several months,” though, is a drop in the bucket compared to the temporal shift Housewives viewers might be subject to next. Sources say there is a plan on the drawing board to fast-forward the show five years into the future in the closing moments of the season finale — and continue on from there for the duration of the series. Such a tornado-trumping twist would of course necessitate several cast changes. [TV Guide]
Carlos remains hospitalized after going blind in the storm and pretends it’s temporary. “Things get complicated when Gaby shows up with a priest and gets Carlos to marry her,” [Marc] Cherry says. Later, jealous Edie will reveal the truth. But says [Eva] Longoria Parker, “As superficial as Gaby is, she might surprise you by standing by her man.” Lynette decides to go to church with Bree. Susan brings in her accountant cousin, Tim, to help her with taxes – and she’ll catch him in a sexual situation with Katherine. [TV Guide]
Old wounds will reopen when Lynette’s mad crush Rick returns. [TV Guide]
Lynette decides to go to church with Bree. Pill-popping Mike emerges from rehab “and he’ll go to everyone he’s wronged to ask forgiveness, including Orson,” Cherry says. “That triggers a weird response — Orson starts sleepwalking.” Katherine has bigger worries: Her presumed-dead ex arrives. [TV Guide]
Gaby struggles with the reality of having a blind husband, Lynette is surprised when someone from her past shows up at Scavo pizzeria, and Bree and Katherine join forces to plan the Founders Day Ball. [ABC]
Mike will not attend the first Lamaze class because he is getting his thirty-day chip, marking 30 days without drugs. He attends the second class during which Marisa complains that Karl never takes her out while Karl says that he didn’t ditch her on the first class (what Mike did). Ellie (character who is more than likely the one played by Justine Bateman) entertains a business man at the Solises’ house. [SpoilerFix.com]
Grey’s Anatomy
Producers are looking for a pair of actors in their twenties to play gay soldiers in love. Interested thesps must be Caucasian, good-looking and be comfortable sharing a “very romantic kiss” with another guy. [Michael Ausiello]
“When we come back, we’ll have leapt ahead five or six weeks in time,” creator Shonda Rhimes says. “It’s our way of acknowledging the bump caused by the strike. But it’ll be very clear from the first moment what has transpired. You’ll see where things stand with Derek and Meredith and Rose. You’ll see where George is living, and in the first episode all the residents will be involved in a high-stakes surgical contest — definitely not something the chief would condone.” Old relationships will become new again, some people you thought would never get together will, and there are going to be some interesting outside influences,” Rhimes promises. George and Izzie have “put it to bed for the night. They’ve left it at the idea that it’s not necessarily about the bad sex as it is the bad timing. What will be interesting to see it that after that intimate explosion of events, whether they can just be friends.” [TV Guide]
Pretty boy plastic surgeon Mark “McSteamy” Sloan will continue his pursuit of the hard-to-impress Dr. Hahn. “The way that is going to play out will be surprising to everyone,” Rhimes says. “Mark Sloan is not used to not getting what he wants.” “I am pretty dedicated to the idea that [Meredith and Derek] are to be together for good this season,” Rhimes says. “What’s going to be interesting is how she gets her act together, and how they decided that this is it.” Are those wedding bells we hear?! “I did not say there is going to be a wedding,” Rhimes says. “Or a ring. Although I did not say there wasn’t going to be a ring.” [TV Guide]
Heroes
Someone may be moving in on Mohinder’s narrator turf. Tim Kring is said to be seeking an Australian Aboriginal actor in his fifties to appear in multiple episodes as a storyteller with great wisdom and a soft, soothing voice. [Michael Ausiello]
House
Ivana Milicevic (Love Monkey, Ugly Betty) will appear in the show’s season finale in a top-secret role. Well, top-secret save for these two hints: Her character may or may not be dressed entirely in black, and she may or may not appear in House’s subconscious. [Michael Ausiello]
How I Met Your Mother
James Van Der Beek has officially agreed to guest star on How I Met Your Mother’s upcoming “Robin Sparkles” episode. I’m hearing he plays the Canadian pop star’s crush, but I have yet to get confirmation on that little detail. [Kristin@E!Online]
Lost
Claire is in significant danger in this season’s Episode 9. [Michael Ausiello]
Damon Lindelof teased, “Romance is always blooming on and off the island. And I hereby promise you one of the most spectacular kisses you’ve ever seen on the show in this year’s finale.” [Michael Ausiello]
Locke’s camp comes under attack, and Jack tries to discover the identity of a body that has washed ashore. [ABC]
Lost returned to the Windward Community College campus in Kaneohe today to film another scene at the “Santa Rosa Mental Institute.” A sign was set up in back, fronting a sometimes soccer field, and Jack’s old pickup truck was parked nearby. Filming took place inside Hale Kuhina, the continuing education/employment training building, with Jorge Garcia and Matthew Fox. A man dressed as a doctor (Dr. Stillman, perhaps, given recent casting calls) and a couple of burly orderlies were also sighted milling about. Hale Kuhina is within a stone’s throw of the Hawaii State Hospital building and shady tree that served as the Santa Rosa lawn where Hurley received a mysterious visit from Charlie. On Friday, Lost set up shop in Hawaii Pacific University’s Frear Center, located in an office building in downtown Honolulu. The scene took place inside “St. Sebastian Neuro Clinic,” so of course Matthew Fox (Jack Shepherd) was spotted among dozens of extras dressed in medical garb. But also featured prominently was John Terry (Christian Shepherd). Brief shots were filmed at the clinic’s front desk, and inside Dr. Jack Shepherd’s office. [The Transmission]
Upcoming episodes will reveal how [Michael] made it home. “You will be getting the detailed version of what exactly happened to Michael in between Ben sending him and Walt off the island and when we first meet him behind the wheel of that car” in the March 20 episode, Lindelof promises. Adds exec producer Carlton Cuse: “Michael becomes really pivotal to the end of the season. His return will have a lot of impact on the other characters.” Presumably, that includes Sayid, who exposed Michael as an Oceanic 815 survivor. Viewers also will learn how the Oceanic 6 escaped the island and what hapenned to those who didn’t. “The debate about whether Jack or Locke was right is really gonna amplify,” Cuse teases. Amonth the other goodies in store: the identity of the person in that coffin, details on the freighter fold and the answer to who attacked — and seemingly killed — Rousseau and Karl. [TV Guide]
Moonlight
Before the season is out, we’ll meet Mick’s best friend/former WWII army buddy, Ray, who, curiously, is only in his late twenties. Let’s see here… WWII vet + present-day twentysomething = yep, vampire. [Michael Ausiello]
Nip/Tuck
Producers are casting the role of Dr. Raj, a 17-year-old child prodigy in the plastic-surgery world who is funny, frank and self-promoting. [Michael Ausiello]
Smallville
The 150th episode will air on May 1, it’s being directed by Tom Welling, it features the return of James Marsters as Brainiac, and, according to exec producer Al Gough, it’s another one of those alt-reality romps, only this time “Clark has to look at a world where potentially he never crash-landed on Earth. It’s basically a version that could have happened — and if Brainiac has his way, it will happen.” [Michael Ausiello]
In the 150th episode, we’ll get our first glimpse of Clark sporting an iconic Superman look. What does that have to do with Lois, you ask? Well, Ms. Lane’s responsible for the wardrobe change! [Michael Ausiello]
In the finale, the final scene(s) very much involve Lex finding some important pieces of the Superman puzzle. Hint: The title of the episode is “Arctic.” [Michael Ausiello]
The secret of Veritas leads Lex in a dangerous direction that will put Clark and Lex in each others’ crosshairs. There is a major power struggle and one character dies. [The CW]
Supernatural
“The season finale takes place on the very last day before his card gets pulled by the demon,” Gamble said. “It’s a fight to the finish. Several of the players that we’ve been watching deal with this over the course of the season will be in the episode. We said we weren’t going to make it easy for them, and we’ve made it pretty difficult, bordering upon impossible.” Will Dean survive and elude hell’s clutches? “For all you know, in the fourth season it’s going to be Sam with a flashlight in haunted houses with a special cell phone that calls hell,” Gamble said with tongue in cheek. “Everyone has a theory. Everyone will find out soon enough. They just have to wait a few more months.” [SciFi Wire]
