Friday Night Lights

The battle for Lyla is about to get very interesting. Even though Riggins looked mighty defeated last Friday after witnessing Chris plant that smooch on his ladylove, he’s not throwing in the towel. In fact, the problem-plagued Panther will align himself with a very unlikely entity in his bid to win her back. That being said, the Riggins/Lyla/Chris triangle will hardly be a drawn out affair. Things will come to a head in Episode 15, appropriately titled, “May the Best Man Win.” [Michael Ausiello]

Matt Saracen reaches a tough point in his life where nothing seems to really matter to him anymore. Meanwhile, Tami Taylor’s relationship continues to grow with Tyra and Julie becomes very jealous. Landry may have a new potential love interest that could shake up his relationship with Tyra. Elsewhere, Brian “Smash Williams begins his three game suspension and turns to Coach Taylor for advice. [NBC]

Brian “Smash” Williams is determined to get a football scholarship to college despite the recent events that have transpired. However, Brian is very shocked when the most unlikely place offers him what may be the opportunity of his life. Tami Taylor runs into her ex-boyfriend from high school, a big real estate mogul, and he decides to stay in Dillon for a few days. A few days proves to be too long as Coach Taylor begins to feel a bit jealous. Elsewhere, Jason Street hears the biggest news of his life since his accident and must decide if he is willing to change his life completely. Meanwhile, Tim Riggins continues his pursuit of Lyla by getting his own radio show at the Christian radio station. Lyla seems to be enjoying her current relationship with her Christian boyfriend as she goes with him to meet his family. [NBC]

Jericho

According to executive producer Carol Barbee, because of the seven-episode order, this season of Jericho is “all A-story.” Indeed, the first three eps move at a very rapid and satisfying pace. If you’re more in it for the characters than for the plot, don’t worry, there are also some lovely developments for at least two beloved citizens of Jericho. [Kristin@E!Online]

The grim, gray look of yesterseason has been traded out for a shiny, new, cleaned-up Jericho, Kansas. According to producer Karim Zreik, season two “shows the town in a new light.” [Kristin@E!Online]

Jake and Emily (Skeet Ulrich and Ashley Scott) are together, and they’re very happy. The Jakeless Heather, however, is present, accounted for and turning into quite the hero. [Kristin@E!Online]

Daniel Benzali’s (Homeland Security honcho Thomas Valente) passing resemblance to Dick Cheney is not an accident. We’ll also meet another important politico. [Kristin@E!Online]

Even though her contract was not renewed, Pamela Reed will be back as Gail Green. Look for her to appear in one episode in the latter half of the season. [Kristin@E!Online]

After the departure of Gerald McRaney (the late, great Mayor Johnston Greene), there was, said Barbee, “a vacuum of awesomeness that had to be filled.” Esai Morales fills that vacuum as a new local authority in charge of awesome, no-nonsense problem solving. [Kristin@E!Online]

Stay tuned for the finale, episode seven, said producer Turteltaub. “Episode seven is worth watching even if you haven’t watched the first six.” According to producers, the blockbuster season-ender offers closure to fans—just in case the series is not renewed—but also opens the door to a new challenge in season three. Las Vegas

Danny, Piper and Mitch, along with the surveillance room are taken hostage when thieves attempt to steal a rare stamp that is up for auction at the Montecito. Delinda and Cooper have an unexpected dinner and Delinda takes this opportunity to try to get to know their mysterious owner. Meanwhile, Mike’s mom discovers he has gotten married without her being there and is irated, but thanks to his quick thinking he convinces her that they haven’t gotten married yet and that the big day is Saturday. Excited about the nuptials, Danny and Delinda help to plan the bachelor parties, which gets them thinking about their own future together.] Former owner Casey Manning’s little brother Vic (Charlie Koznick) pays a visit to Vegas and is interested in only two things – Sam and getting the Montecito back. An unexpected tragedy happens to one of the staffers stunning everyone. Also guest starring Cheryl Ladd. Musical guest James Blunt. [NBC]

Lost

Someone we thought was killed in the season finale will turn up very much alive in the January 31 premiere. [Michael Ausiello]

Other interesting “out of place” objects will turn up, both on and off the island. [Michael Ausiello]

In the season premiere episode, “The Beginning of the End,” feeling that their rescue is close at hand, the survivors don’t know whether to believe Charlie’s final message that the people claiming to liberate them are not who they seem to be. The band of friends, family, enemies and strangers must continue to work together against the cruel weather and harsh terrain if they want to stay alive. But as they have discovered during their 90-plus days on the island, danger and mystery loom behind every corner, and those they thought could be trusted may turn against them. Even heroes have secrets. [ABC]

Prison Break

Heavy rains force Michael to move up the escape timetable and break out of Sona that evening. Another inmate joins in on the escape, and T-Bag and Lechero form an alliance as Bellick hopes to form one with Mahone. Lincoln and Sucre help bring the lights down on Sona. [Fox]

Smallville

Green Arrow proves himself to be quite the skillful thief in the February 7 episode. According to one of my Small moles, Justin Hartley’s emerald archer steals every scene he’s in. Speaking of petty theft, Lana steals a few minutes with Clark and finally tells him the truth. About Lionel. About that woman who died. About everything. [Michael Ausiello]

While secretly working for Oliver (guest star Justin Hartley), Chloe intercepts one of Lex’s project files, but she is attacked by the Black Canary (guest star Alaina Huffman), a mystery woman with a subsonic cry. Dinah Lance, Black Canary’s alter ego, is a conservative talk show host who is working at the Daily Planet and clashes with Lois. Lex convinces the Black Canary that the Green Arrow and his team are terrorists so she launches an attack on the Green Arrow and Clark. Meanwhile, Lois discovers Oliver’s secret. [The CW]

Supernatural

Sam and Dean race to Bobby’s (guest star Jim Beaver) side after he lapses into a coma and can’t be awakened. While unconscious, Bobby battles his personal demons and the reason he became a hunter is revealed. Sam and Dean discover someone poisoned Bobby with a potion that will kill him if he doesn’t wake soon. When the brothers decide to take the potion themselves to enter Bobby’s dream in order to save him, they come face to face with their own personal nightmares. [The CW]

The Wire

But by the end of Episode 7, Marlo is still very much in control — although there’s no question a gang war is going on, and both sides have traded casualties. [Michael Ausiello]

Ugly Betty

Tomorrow’s final pre-strike outing is all about Gio/Betty/Henry. But don’t be fooled by the promos, which makes it look like Betty is torn between two lovers. By the end of the episode, our favorite bespectacled, brace-faced brunette is on very solid footing with one, and only one, guy. [Michael Ausiello]
