The CW Orders Light Years Pilot

The CW has handed a put pilot commitment to Light Years, a family dramedy penned by Liz Tigelaar (What About Brian). Gary Fleder is attached to direct the project, which centers on a smart, sassy 15-year-old girl who, seeking emancipation after growing up in foster homes, tracks down her parents who had given her up for adoption when their one-night stand in high school resulted in pregnancy. She connects with her birth mom, a morning radio show host with commitment-phobia, and dad, an immature bar owner, and the trio forms a modern-day “It Takes a Village”-type family.
