Cougar Town (ABC)
Ryan Devlin (Veronica Mars) is joining the cast of ABC’s freshman comedy in a recurring role. He will play Smith, a love interest for Laurie (Busy Phillipps), Jules’ (Courteney Cox) ditsy assistant and close friend.

The Mentalist (CBS)
Aunjanue Ellis has joined the cast of the sophomore CBS drama in a recurring role. She will play the beautiful but tough new head of the California Bureau of Investigation who is installed after the resignation of the unit’s former chief, Virgil Minelli, played by Gregory Itzin. She is brought in to restore discipline and morale to the division after the murder of three agents, including Agent Sam Bosco (Terry Kinney), and will be the new supervisor of Agent Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney). Ellis’ debut is tentatively scheduled for April.

True Blood (HBO)
Marshall Allman (Prison Break) is joining the show as a regular for the upcoming third season. He will play Tommy Mickens, Sam Merlotte’s (Sam Trammell) long-lost younger brother who works at a Tire Depot in Arkansas.

In other True Blood-Prison Break casting news, Shannon Lucio has landed a guest role on the vampire drama. You might remember Lucio as the GATE receptionist who turned out to be an undercover FBI agent. She will play Caroline Compton, the wife of Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) who lived during the Civil War. Amber Dawn Landrum played the character in a flashback on the show’s first season.

Vampire Diaries (The CW)
Kelly Hu is currently filming a role on The CW’s vampire drama. She will play Pearl, a pharmacist who, way back in the day, had a run-in with Katherine. Hu’s episode is scheduled to air in the January 28 episode.
