Cougar Town (ABC)
Lisa Kudrow has signed on to guest star opposite ex-Friend Courteney Cox. She will play a dermatologist that Jules can’t stop going to even though she is mean to her. Kudrow’s episode will shoot next month and air in early 2010.
FlashForward (ABC)
Paula Newsome (Women’s Murder Club) is joining the show for a multi-episode arc. Newsome will play a doctor. There are no other details about her role. Her arc will likely begin airing in early 2010.
Gossip Girl (The CW)
Sherri Saum has signed on for a recurring role. She will play Holland Kemble, a powerful business executive-turned-Upper East Side trophy wife and could be trouble for Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and Rufus (Matthew Settle).
Law and Order (NBC)
Ernie Hudson has joined the show in a guest role. S. EpathaMerkerson’s cancer-stricken Van Buren recently revealed that she had met the love of her life, but the identity of her new suitor has remained a secret. All that will change this Friday when Hudson begins a multi-episode arc as her new boyfriend.
Melrose Place (The CW)
Nick Zano, who’s currently playing Courteney Cox’s boyfriend on Cougar Town, is in talks to join the show as a replacement for Colin Egglesfield’s dark, brooding Auggie. Zano would be playing a doctor who works with Lauren (Stephanie Jacobsen) and Michael (Thomas Calabro) at Wilshire Memorial.
Executive producer Todd Slavkin described the character as “irreverent and funny. He will move into the [apartment] building. He doesn’t take life very seriously. Medicine can be very fun as well as serious to him, and he ends up lightening up Lauren.” Zano’s Melrose casting wouldn’t interfere with his Cougar Town commitment since he recently shot his final episode of the ABC comedy.
Men of a Certain Age (TNT)
Robert Loggia has signed on for an episode of TNT’s new drama starring Ray Romano, Andre Braugher and Scott Bakula. Loggia will guest-star in a January episode as Artie, the father of Ray Romano’s Joe. When Artie retires from running his hardware store, he spends all his time at home alone recovering from angioplasty. Joe takes it upon himself to bring back his dad’s former spark.
