Zooey Deschanel is set to join sister Emily for a guest role this December. Zooey would play a relative of Brennan’s, possible a cousin in Minnesota who was referenced in the show two seasons ago.

Burn Notice (USA)
Garret Dillahunt has spied a guest role USA’s hit show. Dillahunt will play Simon, a scary-smart new client of Michael’s. Simon might be the first person to outsmart Michael. The episode, which will air this winter when the show returns to finish out its third season, also features the return of Frasier’s John Mahoney as Management.

CSI: Miami (CBS)
Christian Clemenson has the show in a recurring role. He will play a medical examiner for at least two episodes.

Damages (FX)
Campbell Scott is joining the cast as a series regular. Producers are keeping details about Scott’s character very quiet. Production resumes at the end of September and the third season is scheduled to premiere in January.

Mercy (NBC)
Kate Mulgrew has been cast on NBC’s fall drama. Mulgrew will play Jeannie Flanagan, the mother of the show’s lead, Veronica (Taylor Schilling). The show is about a group of nurses and their relationships.
