Army Wives (Lifetime)
Shelby Lynne will appear in an August episode, playing a country music singer whom Roxy adored while growing up, but now is “down and out,” Brigid Brannagh (Pamela) says “Roxy ends up befriending her – and then she sings a little ditty at the Hump Bar, which is pretty cool.”
Appearing in the episode immediately following is Gilmore Girls actress Kelly Bishop. She’ll be playing the wife of a late, great state senator, in town to attend a building-naming ceremony. Charged with entertaining the special guest, Claudia Joy and Denise come to realize the not-so-weeping widow’s secret – that she’s a cougar!
Dexter (Showtime)
Courtney Ford has joined Dexter for a multi-episode arc. On the show, which recently cast John Lithgow as Miami’s latest serial killer and new nemesis of Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), Ford will play a reporter.
Entourage (HBO)
Zac Efron is set to guest on the HBO series, according to E! A source says that Efron was filming scenes for the show at Beverly Hills Niketown Tuesday morning. “He was filming a scene and talking on his cell phone,” the source said. “None of the other Entourage cast was [there]. He was really nice.”
Details on Efron’s role are yet to be announced, but he joins a growing list of stars set to appear as themselves during Season 6, including Lil Wayne, LeBron James, Tom Brady and Aaron Sorkin.
Greek (ABC Family)
Kadeem Hardison (A Different World) has been cast as Ashleigh’s father, Brian Howard, in a season 3 episode. Pops arrives on campus to spend Father-Daughter Weekend at the ZBZ sorority with Ash.
Heroes (NBC)
Claire Bennet will soon be hitting the books on a college campus where she will cross paths with a quirky student played by Madeline Zima. Californication co-star Zima has been cast to recur on the NBC drama’s upcoming fourth season. In a multi-episode arc she will play Gretchen, an edgy outsider and college roommate to Claire.
Hung (HBO)
Gregg Henry has joined HBO’s upcoming dark comedy as recurring. On the show, starring Thomas Jane as a well-endowed high school basketball coach, Henry will play Mike, an assistant coach.
Nip/Tuck (FX)
Famke Janssen has signed a deal to reprise her role as gender-bending sociopath Ava Moore for the FX drama’s seventh and final season. Ava, arguably one of the show’s most memorable characters ever, was last seen jetting off to Paris shortly after completing her final gender reassignment surgery at the end of season 2.
Series creator Ryan Murphy confirmed via the show’s online fan forum. “Just finished the last [Nip/Tuck] script today – the 100th episode,” Murphy wrote. “The end. Very strange. But I thought I would confirm something here on the forum, since you’ve all been so great and loyal: Ava Moore (Famke!) returns for the final two episodes.”
