How To Make It In America (HBO)
Eddie Kaye Thomas has joined HBO’s upcoming comedy series How to Make It in America as a regular. Thomas guest-starred on the pilot, which revolves around Ben and his friend Cam, enterprising twentysomethings who hustle their way through New York determined to achieve the American dream. Thomas plays a guy who went to high school with Ben. He now runs a hedge fund and is extremely rich but wants to be cool at any price.
The Bill Engvall Show (TBS)
Stephen Dunham has been added to TBS’ comedy The Bill Engvall Show. On the show Dunham will play Engvall’s brother Kenny, a likable ne’er-do-well who gets by on his charm. Domain-repped Dunham joins as a recurring this season with an option to become a series regular.
The Tudors (Showtime)
Joss Stone has signed to return to Showtime’s drama The Tudors for its fourth and final season. She will reprise her role from the current third season as Anne of Cleves, the fourth wife of Henry VIII (Jonathan Rhys Meyers). Anne, whose marriage to Henry was annulled after he decided he no longer found her attractive, became the king’s confidante and outlived his other five wives.
Weeds (Showtime)
Actor-singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette has been cast as Nancy’s obstetrician, Audra Kitson. Morissette will appear in a minimum of seven episodes during the upcoming fifth season (debuting June 8), and could return next season as well. The role may require Morissette to engage in “some tasteful nudity” with Justin Kirk’s Andy.
