Accidentally on Purpose (CBS)
Grant Show and Lennon Parham have joined CBS’ comedy Accidentally on Purpose. The show stars Elfman as a movie critic who gets pregnant after a fling with a younger man. Show will play the owner of the paper where she works. Parham will play her younger sister.
Pulling (ABC)
Lindsay Sloane, Mary Elizabeth Ellis and Charlie Finn have landed leads on ABC’s comedy pilot Pulling. The show based on a British format, revolves around three single thirtysomething women, two of them played by Sloane and Ellis, who live together after one (Sloane) breaks off her engagement the day before her wedding. Finn will play the jilted fiance
The Bridget Show (ABC)
Holly Robinson Peete and Josh Braaten will co-star opposite Lauren Graham on ABC’s comedy pilot The Bridget Show. The show stars Graham as Bridget, a popular talk show host and relationship expert who walks away from her stellar career to be with the man she loves but five years later, she tries to hit the comeback trail after he dumps her. Robinson Peete will play guest therapist on Bridget’s show who takes over the show after Bridget leaves and becomes a daytime maven. Braaten plays the stoner cousin of Bridget’s recent ex.
The Closer (TNT)
Mary McDonnell is joining TNT’s The Closer for a multi-episode arc as a police captain who butts heads with Kyra Sedgwick. McDonnell will play Captain Christina Hatcher who runs the department’s Force Investigation Division. McDonnell is set to debut early into The Closer’s forthcoming fifth season.
The Office (NBC)
Ellie Kemper, a veteran of the Upright Citizens Brigade, has been cast as the show’s new receptionist. What does this mean for Pam? Is the new boss promoting her or firing her? Or is she following Michael’s lead and quitting, too?
Three Rivers (CBS)
Julia Ormond has been tapped as a lead on CBS’ drama pilot Three Rivers. The show is about organ transplants seen through three points of view: those of the doctors, the donors and the recipients. Ormond will play the head of surgery at Three Rivers Hospital.
V (ABC)
Elizabeth Mitchell (Juliet on Lost) has been cast in ABC’s V pilot. It is rumored that she is only cast in a guest role and that it won’t affect her role on Lost. This will likely fuel speculation that Juliet will be killed this season on Lost.
Untitled Tad Quill Pilot (ABC)
Eric McCormack is returning to multicamera comedy with a starring role on the untitled Tad Quill half-hour pilot. Reno Wilson, Jolie Jenkins and Constance Zimmer also have been cast in the ABC pilot. The show centers on two friends who embark on very different lives: Dean (McCormack), a heart surgeon with a new baby, and Seth (Wilson), a contractor with a new empty nest. Jenkins will play Dean’s wife, and Zimmer will play Seth’s wife. For McCormackthe pilot is formally in second position to his TNT series Trust Me which is not expected to return.
