Body Politic (The CW)
Tim Matheson has been tapped for the DC-set Body Politic. Matheson will play a charming, JFK-type senator. The show revolves around young staffers in Washington.

Cougar Town (ABC)
Josh Hopkins and Ian Gomez have joined ABC’s Cougar Town. The show is about a 40-year-old newly single mom with a teen son. Hopkins plays her neighbor. Gomez will play another neighbor.

Eastwick (ABC)
Jon Bernthal and Johann Urb have been added to ABC’s drama pilot Eastwick. The WBTV-produced Eastwick follows three young witches who come into their powers. Bernthal will play the unemployed husband of one of them. Urb will play a local news fotographer/volunteer fireman who is the object of affection of another.

Gossip Girl Spinoff (The CW)
Andrew McCarthy has joined the cast of the Gossip Girl spinoff, playing Lily Rhodes’ father, Rick, a music company executive. McCarthy joins Snow and Krysten Ritter, who plays Lily’s sister Carol. The CW show will chronicle Lily’s (Brittany Snow) wild teen years in 1980s Los Angeles.

Human Target (Fox)
Jackie Earle Haley and Chi McBride have been cast to co-star in Fox’s drama pilot Human Target. The show centers on Christopher Chance (Mark Valley), a mysterious freelancer who offers a unique form of security for hire: He assumes the identities of people in danger, becoming the “human target” on behalf of his clients. Haley will play Chance’s information gatherer. McBride will play Chance’s business partner and friend.

Inside The Box (ABC)
Jennifer Finnigan has been tapped to co-star on ABC’s drama Inside the Box. The show is set at a Washington network news bureau. Finnigan will play the newly minted White House press secretary who has an affair with the network’s D.C.-based news anchor (Jason George).

Maggie Hill (Fox)
Stuart Townsend will co-star on Fox’s Maggie Hill. On the show, about a brilliant surgeon with schizophrenia (Christina Cole), Townsend will play her imaginary boyfriend.

Parenthood (NBC)
Erika Christensen is the first cast in NBC’s Parenthood. Based on the 1990s movie, Parenthood centers on the Braverman clan. Christensen will play Julia Braverman, a go-getting corporate attorney having trouble jumping off the fast track and becoming more involved with her family.

The Good Wife (CBS)
Julianna Margulies has been cast to headline the CBS drama pilot Good Wife. The series will focus on a politician’s wife who pursues her original career as a defense attorney.

The Law (ABC)
Madchen Amick and Ryan Devlin are set as leads in ABC’s comedy The Law. The show, starring Cedric the Entertainer, revolves around reserve police officers. Amick will play a soccer mom-turned-reservist. Devlin will play a rookie reservist.
