An American Family (ABC)
Ed O’Neill will star in ABC’s half-hour pilot An American Family, which also has cast Eric Stonestreet. The single-camera “Family” revolves around three families. The first is a traditional nuclear unit, the second includes a 60-year-old man (O’Neill) who becomes a stepfather after marrying a Latina (Sofia Vergara) 30 years his junior, and the third comprises a gay couple (Stonestreet, Jesse Tyler Ferguson) who have adopted a Vietnamese baby.
Law and Order: SVU (NBC)
The show has cast a new, young male character played by Noel Fisher (The Riches). He has been cast as a rookie crime scene sleuth, a nerdy, eager beaver-type who is in awe of Benson and Stabler. He’s slated to appear in at least four episodes, the first of which will air in April.
Legally Mad (NBC)
Loretta Devine has reunited with David E. Kelley on Legally Mad, his new dramedy at NBC. The pilot centers on Brady Hamm (Charity Wakefield), a twentysomething woman who takes a job at a law firm run by her father (Hugh Bonneville). bDevine will play Jeanette, an attorney at the firm constantly on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
Parks and Recreation (NBC)
Chris Pratt has been cast in a role for Parks and Recreation, Amy Poehler’s pilot on NBC. Pratt will play the unemployed musician boyfriend of Rashida Jones’ nurse character. Parks and Recreation premieres Thursday, April 9.
