L Word alumi Janina Gavankar is leaving Grey’s Anatomy after just two episodes says Michael Ausiello. Gavankar joined the cast in September as one of several new Seattle Grace interns. The role turned out to be smaller than Gavankar had hoped, and without a guarantee that her part would grow, the actress chose to move on. Gavankar may be circling a far bigger role in White Collar, the USA Network pilot starring Matthew Bomer, Tim DeKay and Tiffani Thiessen.

Tiffani Thiessen has been cast on USA Network’s pilot White Collar. Thiessen will play Debbie, Peter’s intelligent and supportive wife who works as an accountant. White Collar, from Fox TV Studios, centers on Neal (Matthew Bomer), a brilliant con artist who partners against his will with Peter (Tim DeKay), the head of the FBI’s white-collar crime unit.

USA has greenlit production on the drama pilot, White Collar, which will star Chuck’s Matthew Bomer and Tim DeKay from Carnivale fame. The series will be a buddy-cop project, chronicling the partnership between a con artist (Bomer) and an FBI agent (DeKay), who have “been playing cat and mouse for years,” USA describes. Jeff Eastin will executive produce, while Bronwen Hughes, of USA’s hit show Burn Notice, will direct.
