ABC Announces 2009 Fall Lineup

Stephen McPherson, president, ABC Entertainment Group, outlined ABC’s plans for next season and unveiled the network’s 2009-10 fall schedule before the advertising and media communities at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall. New fall and midseason series include Cougar Town, The Deep End, Eastwick, Flash Forward, The Forgotten, Hank, Happy Town, The Middle, Modern Family, Shark Tank and V.

Better Off Ted, Castle, Scrubs and True Beauty join previously announced returning series America’s Funniest Home Videos, The Bachelor, Brothers and Sisters, Dancing with the Stars, Desperate Housewives, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Grey’s Anatomy, Lost, Private Practice, Supernanny, Ugly Betty, Wife Swap and 20/20.

ABC Renews Key Shows For 2009-2010 Season

ABC has announced early pick-ups for the 2009-10 season to its top primetime performers. The network renewed key series including Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, Brothers and Sisters and Private Practice. ABC also renewed Lost, which had already been given a go-ahead and will now complete its final season next year.

In a show of confidence, Ugly Betty also got the go ahead for another season. Samantha Who still remains on the bubble, although insiders believe the show will ultimately get another season on air. The pickups make it season six for Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy and Lost. It’s the fourth season for Brothers and Sisters and Ugly Betty, coming close to qualifying both shows for off-network syndication. Private Practice is entering its third year.

Christopher Gorham Returning To Ugly Betty For Season Finale

Christopher Gorham has closed a deal to reprise his role as Betty’s ex-love Henry says Michael Ausiello. Ugly Betty creator Silvio Horta said that Gorham will reappear in the show’s two-hour season finale on May 21 when Betty runs into Henry and his new girlfriend Chloe. To prove to themselves that they’ve moved on, Betty and Henry agree to go on a double date to a Mets game with their respective significant others.
