John Goodman has been cast to star in The Station, the Fox comedy pilot from Ben Stiller. The Station revolves around a group of lackluster CIA operatives at a covert South American outpost, where they’re charged with installing a new dictator. Goodman will play Ted Gannon, a gruff CIA vet and head of its Altamara Station, who mentors Eric. Goodman joins a cast that includes Justin Bartha, Whitney Cummings, Rob Huebel and Julio Oscar Mechoso. David Wain has been brought on to direct The Station. Stiller, Jeremy Kramer and Stuart Cornfeld are the executive producers on The Station, which comes from writer Kevin Napier.

Alison Brie has joined the cast of NBC’s comedy pilot Community. On the show, set at a community college, Brie will play a student.
Cop House (Fox)
Nick Kroll and Nora Zehetner have landed leads on Fox’s comedy pilot Cop House, directed and executive produced by Brett Ratner. The show is set at a halfway house for troubled cops. Kroll will play an overzealous cop with an enormous ego and delusional fantasies. Zehetner will play the house psychologist, who runs group-therapy sessions.

Burn Notice (USA)
Jennifer Esposito has been cast in a multi-episode arc on Burn Notice as Michael’s latest arch nemesis. Her character, Michelle Paxon, is a Miami Police detective who becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth about Michael. She will debut early into the third season, which is scheduled to premiere in June.

Fox has greenlighted four comedy pilots, The Station, Walorsky, Two Dollar Beer and Sons of Tucson as well as three dramas, Maggie Hill, Human Target and an untitled reincarnation-themed project. The seven pilots join drama pilot Eva Adams, which is finishing casting, and fall comedy pilot Boldly Going Nowhere, which is being tweaked and will be reshot.
Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly said last week that he planned to order five comedy pilots and at least five drama pilots and that his comedy picks would be closer in tone to the quirky, offbeat Malcolm in the Middle and The Bernie Mac Show.
