Laura Leighton, who starred on the original Melrose Place, has joined the CW’s new Melrose Place reboot. She will return as the irresponsible and scheming Sydney Andrews, one of the most popular characters on the Fox series. Leighton’s Sydney Andrews will recur on the new show, as the landlord to the new tenants of Melrose Place.
In the fifth-season finale of Melrose Place in 1997 – and Leighton’s last episode on the show – Sydney was run over by a car on her wedding day in a near-fatal accident. She was presumed dead for the rest of the Fox series.

Paul Wesley is set to star opposite Nina Dobrev in The CW’s drama pilot Vampire Diaries. Based on the Alloy novels, WBTV’s Vampire Diaries centers on Elena (Dobrev), a tragic heroine who is the object of passion for two vampire brothers, Stefan and Damon. Wesley will play Stefan a “gloriously, amazingly, epically beautiful young man” who is actually a 200-year-old vampire who has a strong connection with Elena.

Ian Somerhalder has joined the cast of the CW’s drama pilot Vampire Diaries. The show, based on a series of books from Alloy Entertainment, centers on a woman who falls for two vampire brothers – one good and one evil. Somerhalder is set to play Damon, a smug vampire who can go from playful to evil in a split second.

Coleman will play the husband’s younger sister. Faxton will play a cousin.

Colin Egglesfield (All My Children) is the latest actor to join The CW’s Melrose Place. On the CBS Paramount-produced ensemble drama, Egglesfield will play one of the leads, Melrose Place’s resident Auggie. An avid surfer, Auggie works as a sous-chef at a hot restaurant while dreaming of one day working for himself. Egglesfield joins previously cast Michael Rady, Katie Cassidy, Ashlee Simpson and Jessica Lucas.

90210 (The CW)
Lily Collins, daughter of musician Phil Collins, will appear in two episodes of The CW’s drama 90210 this season. In the penultimate episode airing May 12 and in the May 19 season finale, she will play Phoebe, a West Beverly student and rival of Annie (Shenae Grimes). Collins, a broadcast journalism student at USC, is a red-carpet correspondent for Nickelodeon.
