The Casting Call 06.24.09

The Casting Call brings together the latest casting news to keep you informed on who is showing up on which show. 90210 (The CW)
Elisabeth Rohm has signed to guest as a snotty rich woman who has a run-in with Naomi at the beach club.

Cold Case (CBS)
Bobby Cannavale is returning to Cold Case. Cannavale will reprise his role of Detective Eddie Saccardo for at least three episodes, starting with the third episode of the upcoming season. Lilly turns to her former lover in a time of need – this despite the fact that Saccardo is still undercover and close to cracking his big narcotics case.

Glee (Fox)
Eve has just signed a deal to appear in two episodes as a no-nonsense girls’ choir director from a rival school. Glee producers were considering Whitney Houston for the part. But when she turned it down, Eve signed on.

Melrose Place (The CW)
Josie Bissett will be returning as a guest star, reprising her role as the complex’s resident goody-two-shoes, Jane Andrews Mancini, in the upcoming CW series update.

Smallville (The CW)
Callum Blue has joined the cast as a regular. Blue will play General Zod next season, making his first appearance in the season premiere. Supervillain General Zod from the DC Comics books was introduced in 1980 feature Superman II, where the role was played by Terence Stamp.

Supernatural (The CW)
Adrianne Palicki has signed on to reprise her role as Sam’s ill-fated ex, Jessica. As you know, Jessica was killed by a demon in the Supernatural pilot. She reappeared at the end of season 2 during Dean’s genie-granting alternate reality trip, but hasn’t been seen since. She’s booked for one episode and it’ll air early in the season.

Brian Austin Green Is Metallo For Smallville’s Ninth Season

TV Guide is reporting that Brian Austin Green has been cast on Smallville as the villain Metallo. Green will appear as Metallo who masquerades as Daily Planet reporter John Corben in at least the first two episodes of Season 9, which premieres September 25. Green’s Smallville role comes after he passed on the role of One Tree Hill sports agent Clayton. Green starred in The CW’s pilot Body Politic, but that series did not get picked up for fall. This past season, Green costarred on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, which was canceled after two seasons.

The CW Announces 2009 Fall Lineup

The CW Network unveiled the schedule for its 2009-2010 season today at a presentation for advertisers, affiliates and media in the Theater at Madison Square Garden.

On Monday, the powerhouse combination of Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill will remain in place. Last fall, this winning team made The CW the Number One network with women, and sent Monday night ratings up 118 percent in women 18-34. Gossip Girl, which continues to be one of the most talked-about shows on television, will return to its 8:00 PM/ET slot, followed by One Tree Hill from 9:00 PM/ET.
