Fox has given an early second-season renewal to the 20th Century Fox TV-produced suspense thriller Prison Break, which returned to strong ratings last week after a four-month hiatus, reports Variety.
In its two Monday 8 p.m. airings, Prison Break has increased Fox’s season-to-date ratings in the slot 57% among adults 18-49, averaging a 4.4/12. The series’ performance is even more impressive among adults 18-34, improving Fox’s numbers by 81%.
Paul Scheuring created Prison Break and executive produces along with Dawn Parouse, Marty Adelstein, Neal Moritz and Brett Ratner.

As tonight’s Prison Break begins, it’s 11:58 pm and Lincoln is being strapped to the electric chair. Think they’ll pull the switch? Before they put the hood over his head, though, he spots a mysterious guy in the viewing room. There’s a good chance we’ll learn more about him in the weeks to come. And Michael thinks he has found a new escape route. But he’ll have a problem with his blueprints.

When they left us in November, Michael’s escape team was thwarted by an uncorroded piece of pipe, while Lincoln was just a day away from his date with the electric chair. Now it’s just a few minutes later, and the governor (John Heard) is certainly a long shot for granting clemency. The countdown is on.
