CBS Picks Up NCIS: Legend, Good Wife, Three Rivers, Miami Trauma

CBS handed out series orders to the NCIS spinoff, starring LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell, legal drama The Good Wife, starring Julianna Margulies, medical drama Three Rivers starring Alex O’Loughlin, the Jenna Elfman comedy Accidentally on Purpose, as well as Jerry Bruckheimer’s medical drama Miami Trauma. Additionally, the network is ordering unscripted series Undercover Boss, an U.K. format described as Secret Millionaire meets Dirty Jobs.

ABC Picks Up The Forgotten, Eastwick, Hank And The Middle

ABC handed out a series pickup to the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced drama The Forgotten, along with the drama Eastwick, Hank, starring Kelsey Grammer, and The Middle, starring Patricia Heaton.

Written by Mark Friedman, The Forgotten revolves around a team of amateur detectives working on cases of unidentified victims. The cast includes Anthony Carrigan, Michelle Borth, Bob Stephenson, Rochelle Aytes, Rupert Penry-Jones and Reiko Aylesworth. Friedman and Bruckheimer are executive producing.

ABC Picking Up V, The Associates With Mid-Season Orders

ABC is close to a series order for V, the reimagining of the 1980s mini-series. There was speculation that V might get a short midseason order, but indication is that the pickup would probably be for 13 episodes. 20th TV had not accepted it but was heavy in negotiations with ABC Friday night and indication was a deal would be reached.

Also in negotiations for a midseason order is 20th TV’s dramedy The Associates. The show, was redeveloped after being originally ordered to pilot last development season, is in the running for a six-episode pickup.

Fox Picks Up Michael Strahan’s Brothers

Fox picked up Michael Strahan’s comedy Brothers with a 13 episode-order. The pilot about the relationship between a retired NFL player (Michael Strahan) and his wheelchair-bound brother (Darryl Mitchell) was one of the last ones picked up by Fox. CCH Pounder also stars in the comedy. The show joins dramas Human Target, Past Life and Glee and comedies Cleveland and Sons of Tucson as new shows planned for next season on Fox.

Fox has picked up comic book drama Human Target and single-camera comedy Sons of Tucson to series.

Human Target emerged as an early front-runner and was the best-received pilot at the network’s screenings last week. Based on the DC Comics title, the show centers on Christopher Chance (Mark Valley), a mysterious freelancer who offers a unique form of security for hire: He assumes the identities of people in danger, becoming the “human target” on behalf of his clients. Jackie Earle Haley and Chi McBride co-star in the project written by Jon Steinberg and directed by Simon West. The two executive produced the pilot with McG.

ABC Officially Picks Up Flash Forward

ABC has officially picked up drama Flash Forward. The show, which already is being promoted on the network, received a 13-episode order. Based on Robert J. Sawyer’s novel, the series chronicles the aftermath of a global event in which everyone in the world blacks out for 2 minutes, 17 seconds and has mysterious visions of six months into the future. David Goyer and Brannon Braga co-wrote the pilot which Goyer directed.

In addition to Joseph Fiennes, the cast includes Sonya Walger, John Cho, Jack Davenport, Brian O’Byrne, Courtney B. Vance, Christine Woods, Zachary Knighton and Peyton List.
