Bravo Renews Real Housewives Of New Jersey, Adds DC Wvies

Bravo has order up more Real Housewives. The network has added Washington DC to Housewives line up giving a season order to The Real Housewives of D.C. Bravo also renewed The Real Housewives of New Jersey for a second season. Both are set to premiere in 2010, with production under way.

Washington publications have speculated that cast members for The Real Housewives of D.C. will include Lisa Wernick Spies, wife of Republican fundraiser Charlie Spies, and Lynda Erkiletian, president of a Washington modeling agency. Bravo would not confirm castings.

TLC Picks Up BBQ Pit Masters

TLC has picked up a new series which focuses on nationwide BBQ competitions and the cutthroat world of competing grillers. BBQ Pit Masters will run for eight episodes and is scheduled to premiere on December 2. TLC, which also renewed Cake Boss and Ultimate Cake Off, continues to position itself as a destination for food lovers.

ABC Lands Bruckheimer’s Hopscotch

ABC has given a pilot commitment to Jerry Bruckheimer’s Hopscotch, a high-concept police procedural from writer Chris Levinson. The show will tell the stories of homicide investigations over several nonconsecutive days, with each act of an episode chronicling a different day. Levinson is executive producing Hopscotch with Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman. KristieAnne Reed is a co-executive producer.

TLC Is Wedded To Perfection

TLC has greenlit Wedded To Perfection. The series order comes after the show ran as a special in May and did well enough to show potential as a series. Six episodes have been ordered and series will premiere October 2. The show, which will air at 10:00 PM/ET Fridays, follows husband and wife Jung Lee and Josh Brooks. The couple owns a premier wedding and event planning business.

HBO Greenlights Scorsese’s Boardwalk Empire

HBO has given a greenlight to the Martin Scorsese-produced period drama Boardwalk Empire. The cable network has picked up 11 episodes of the drama, bringing the total order to 12 hours, including the pilot.

Written by Terence Winter, Boardwalk Empire is set in 1920 at the dawn of Prohibition and chronicles the life and times of Nucky Thompson, the undisputed ruler of Atlantic City, who was equal parts politician and gangster. Steve Buscemi stars as Thompson, who is described as “equal parts politician and gangster.”

USA Picks Up Covert Affairs

USA Network has ordered the CIA-themed drama pilot Covert Affairs. Piper Perabo stars in the drama as Annie Walker, a CIA trainee who winds up being mysteriously promoted to the field as an operative. The show was written and co-executive produced by Matt Corman and Chris Ord, while Dave Bartis and Doug Liman will exec produce through their Dutch Oven shingle. The news comes after the show cast Christopher Gorman on the series.
