After months of speculation, Lipstick Jungle is officially canceled, according to star Brooke Shields. NBC has not officially announced the show’s cancellation, but a source confirmed Shields’ version of the story.
“It was going to stay and we just were officially told it’s finally not coming back,” Shields, who played movie exec Wendy Healy, told E! “I think a lot of people were really sad, but I think we hung on a really long time. It was three great years that we’ve been working on it.”

NBC has scheduled the four remaining episodes of Lipstick Jungle says The Hollywood Reporter. The show will return to air Friday, December 5, and is shifting the show to a slightly better time slot – 9 pm instead of 10 pm The remaining episodes will air on the 5th and 12th, then January 2nd and 9th. NBC still hasn’t decided to order more episodes beyond the original order for 13, but this move will help give the network some additional ratings data to gauge the show’s potential. Crusoe will be moved from Fridays to Saturdays at 8 pm beginning the same December weekend.

NBC has canceled the freshman drama My Own Worst Enemy and returning sophomore series Lipstick Jungle says The Hollywood Reporter. The cancellation comes after both shows dropped to new lows in the ratings in recent weeks, with the Christian Slater action series sinking to a 1.8 among adults 18-49 on Monday night and “Lipstick” falling to a 1.2 on Friday. Though the Lipstick Jungle number was an improvement on the previous week, the show’s ratings have been below the line for a while now, and sunk after the drama moved to Fridays.
