FX has set a date for the world to find out what happens Vic Makey says Variety. The final episode of The Shield will air November 25. The 7th season premieres September 2 with an episode titled “The Coefficient of Drag.” FX has shot retrospective material and a roundtable discussion on the relevance of the show with the cast and crew, and hosted by Elvis Mitchell.
The Shield, created by Shawn Ryan, bowed in March 2002 to solid ratings and stellar reviews. Following its first season, the show earned plenty of kudo hardware, taking home Golden Globes for drama and actor Michael Chiklis. Later that year, Chiklis won the Emmy, making him the first lead actor to win for a basic cable series. FX is using The Shield as a launching pad for its newest series, Sons of Anarchy, the turbulent life of a family running with a motorcycle gang. It begins September 3.
