Susan Surandon Filmed ER Guest Role With Clooney

January 27th, 2009 | 0 Comments

Kristin@E!Online is reporting that ER has landed Susan Surandon for a guest role. Sarandon filmed scenes late last week with George Clooney on the set of ER at Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank. The episode will air toward the end of the current final season of the long-running NBC hit.

According to sources who were there on set for Clooney’s return, Linda Cardellini got the chance to work with Clooney in at least one scene. So far no details of the storyline have been revealed.

John Wells Gets Clooney Back In The ER

January 22nd, 2009 | 0 Comments

George Clooney denied last year he would make an appearance on ER before the series’ close this spring. People is reporting that ER co-creator John Wells has ordered a closed set to keep Clooney’s appearance under wraps. It’s not known how many episodes will feature Clooney as the show films its final season. Neither NBC nor Warner Brothers reps would comment, nor did Clooney’s publicist. Clooney, himself, denied reports last March he was returning.

Clooney’s return would be among a list of favorites to guest-star in the last season. Anthony Edwards appeared early this season as Dr. Mark Greene in cleverly reconstructed flashbacks revolving around Angela Bassett’s Dr. Cate Banfield. Clooney’s Dr. Doug Ross was last seen on ER in a 2000 cameo walk-through in a remote lake scene with Ross’s ex-Juliana Marguilies.

There is no word on Juliana Marguilies reprising her role as well.

NBC Schedules Southland To Take Over ER Time Slot

January 15th, 2009 | 0 Comments

NBC is expected to schedule John Wells’ new police drama Southland in the Thursday 10 pm slot following the conclusion of the Wells-produced veteran medical drama ER. The heavily promoted new drama Kings, originally scheduled to air Thursdays at 10 pm, is said to be moving to 8 pm Sundays as a lead-in to The Apprentice. NBC recently greenlighted three additional episodes of ER and picked up six episodes of Southland, fueling speculation that it may keep the 10 pm Thursday slot Wells-branded for the rest of the season .
