Gary Cole is set to join HBO’s comedy Entourage as a regular next season, playing Hollywood agent Andrew Klein, Ari’s (Jeremy Piven) oldest Hollywood friend from their early days in the business. Cole is introducing the character this season in a three-episode arc slated to air in November. Entourage, which is halfway though its fifth season, recently was picked up for a sixth season to begin production in early 2009 for a summer launch.

Five episodes into its fifth season and HBO’s comedy mainstay Entourage has been renewed for a sixth season says The Hollywood Reporter. Production on the sixth season of the show, created by Doug Ellin, will begin in early 2009, with launch slated for next summer. Entourage stars Adrian Grenier as Vince, a once-hot young actor looking for a way to rejuvenate his career; Kevin Connolly as Vince’s manager; Kevin Dillon as Vince’s half-brother Drama; Jerry Ferrara as Turtle; Piven as Ari, Vince’s aggressive, high-powered agent; Perrey Reeves as Mrs. Ari; and Rex Lee as Ari’s suffering assistant Lloyd.
After accepting his third Emmy for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, Jeremy Piven announced a Larry Sanders Show reunion . . . of sorts. TV Guide is reporting that Jeffrey Tambor, who played Garry Shandling’s on-air sidekick Hank on the long-running HBO show about a late-night talk show, will guest-star on an upcoming episode of Entourage. Tambor plays a client to Piven’s agent Ari Gold.
