CBS announced today it has delivered full-season orders for the 2006-2007 season to 14 series representing 13 hours of programming. The mass renewal announcement includes the three new series Criminal Minds, Ghost Whisperer and How I Met Your Mother.
In addition to the freshman series, returning series receiving full season orders for 2006-2007 are 60 Minutes, The Amazing Race, Cold Case, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, NCIS, Numb3rs, Survivor, Two and a Half Men and Without a Trace.

Peter Dinklage (Threshold) has joined the cast of a new CBS SF drama pilot, Ultra, based on the comic book of the same name, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Dinklage will play The Scientist in the CBS show, which stars Lena Headey as a single, city-girl superhero. Dinklage was last seen in the network’s short-lived alien-invasion series Threshold, in which he also played a scientist.

Skeet Ulrich has been tapped to star in CBS’ pilot Jericho, from executive producers Ridley and Tony Scott, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Jericho, from CBS Paramount Network TV and Scott Free Productions, chronicles the chaos that ensues in a small town that becomes isolated from the rest of the world following a nuclear disaster, the trade paper reported.

Aardman, the British animation studio behind Wallace and Gromit, has signed a deal to produce a half-hour, animated series for CBS. The program will be based on their Oscar winning short, Creature Comforts, and the network has already ordered seven episodes. The prime-time series should premiere in early 2007.

Conan O’Brien’s production company has landed a pilot at NBC about a man who gets a second shot at life, Variety reported. CBS, meanwhile, picked up what it called an Indiana Jones-type drama pilot.
O’Brien’s Conaco, along with NBC Universal TV Studio, is behind an as-yet-untitled hourlong drama, formerly titled The Haskett Chronicles, from writer Willie Reale (Keen Eddie).
