True Blood (HBO)
After a slew of recent castings, True Blood showrunner Alan Ball has found his next werewolf. Joe Manganiello has been cast in the recurring role of Alcide Herveaux. In the third book, Club Dead, Eric enlists Alcide to help Sookie search for Bill after he disappears. Ball hasn’t said if the show will follow that storyline.

Alan Ball has been busy casting new characters for the third season of True Blood, his hit HBO series based loosely on the Southern Vampires Mysteries series written by Charlaine Harris.
Ball has cast James Frain and Natasha Alam in potentially recurring roles. Frain will play Franklin Mott, Tara’s over-protective vampire boyfriend. Mott is described as a tall, dark, and handsome vampire who seems to have an “immediate and torrid” connection to Tara. Frain will debut in the second episode of the show’s upcoming third season. Alam will play Yvetta, a new dancer at Fangtasia who gets involved with Eric.

Country music group Rascal Flatts has signed on to appear in an episode to air sometime next year. In the episode titled Unshockable, the band members will be playing themselves.
