Marvel Entertainment is packaging some of its most vaunted superheroes for an upcoming Cartoon Network animated series. The toon network has ordered 26 episodes of the Marvel Super Hero Squad, in which Captain America, Silver Surfer, Hulk, Wolverine and Iron Man will team up to fight crime. The half-hour cartoon is targeted for premiere in late 2009.
Voice talent will include Tom Kenny, Charlie Adler, Steve Blum and Grey DeLisle. The series will fit into a Cartoon Network lineup that already includes TV’s top animated draw for boys 6-14, the George Lucas-produced Star Wars: The Clone Wars as well as Batman: The Brave and The Bold.

Cartoon Network has picked-up a second season of the hit CG-animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, from creator George Lucas and Lucasfilm Animation. Scheduled to premiere in the fall of 2009, the second season will continue to take audiences on new and exciting adventures, combining the legendary storytelling of Lucasfilm with innovative animation. The season one finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars airs on Cartoon Network Friday, March 20 at 9 pm ET/PT.

After braking ratings records on Cartoon Network, the Clone Wars are invading TNT. The animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars will receive an encore run on TNT starting in February. The George Lucas-produced series will make its TNT debut on February 14 with back-to-back first-season episodes following coverage of the NBA All-Star Game weekend. The half-hour sci-fi animated series will then move into its regular Wednesday 10 pm time slot starting February 18.
