David Eick, co-executive producer of NBC’s SF series Bionic Woman, confirmed to SCI FI Wire that the network has indeed canceled the show, though the network has not yet officially said as much. “I just felt that the process was so frustrating, and the conditions under which we were making that show never really came to fruition in such a way that I felt like we could make the show well,” Eick said in an interview at SCI FI Channel’s upfront presentation to advertisers in New York on March 18. “The actress [Michelle Ryan] we found was wonderful. Some of the writing was good.” But, he added: “We just didn’t ever bring it all together like we did with Battlestar. At a certain point, when it becomes that frustrating, I think you’re better off to say, ‘Let’s try again another time,’ and let it go.”

Michael Ausiello is reporting that NBC has cancelled Bionic Woman:
Although NBC isn’t talking, I’m told by multiple sources that Bionic staffers were informed late last week that the troubled reboot has indeed been canceled. That means no spring relaunch under new show-runner Jason Cahill – which is too bad. Cahill’s a talented guy (see: The Sopranos), and I was anxious to see what he would do with the show. But I guess it wasn’t meant to be.

Katee Sackhoff talked to TV Guide about comments attributed to her about her status with Bionic Woman and issues with Bionic Lead Michelle Ryan. “I have no plans to leave Bionic Woman, and Michelle Ryan” — who fills the title role — “is doing a great job. There’s not one ounce of bad blood between us.” Sackhoff, whose flamboyant turn as Sarah Corvus has overshadowed Ryan on the struggling NBC series, says that she absolutely did not diss either Bionic Woman or its star at a recent convention. (News of the alleged cattiness came from a blogger who attended the sci-fi event.) “It’s sad,” says Sackhoff, “because you want to connect with the fans, and then they throw it in your face in a negative light.”
Sackhoff confides she’s meeting with producers “to discuss my involvement in the show, which was pretty limited this year” — pre-strike, she was slated for seven episodes — “because of my obligations to Battlestar Galactica.” Making clear she’s “contractually obligated to a six-year deal” on BW, she insists she’d be “happy as a clam” to stay that long. “It’s fun and it’s a physical role, and god knows that’s what I love to do.” That said, “If they want to cut my involvement, that’s totally fine. I understand that it’s called the Bionic Woman, not Women. It would be nice to actually do a pilot season.”
NBC hasn’t called for additional episodes of Bionic Woman, as it has done with other freshman shows Chuck and Life, so there’s talk that last night’s episode may have been an unexpected finale.

Katee Sackoff, who plays rogue beta model Sarah Corvus on Bionic Woman, says she is completely done with NBC’s struggling series, and not because of the writers’ strike. RoadRunnerDM is reporting that Sackoff said at a public Q&A that she has a meeting with one of the producers after Thanksgiving, but does not expect to return to the show even if it does resume production.
UPDATE: Here is actually what Sackoff said:
Bionic Woman on the other hand, (clapping) um, thank you, um I don’t know what’s gonna happen with that one. I’m not even really like on the show anymore. I’m having a sit down with one of the new show runners in a couple of weeks or something like that to discuss future on the show. I don’t know what’s gonna happen with that you know. Battlestar has such a following that it does make sense for them to finish it. Bionic Woman on the other hand is such an expensive show and the ratings are (Katee makes a raspberry noise).
That was one of my questions (trivia) ‘Who knows why Bionic Woman isn’t doing well’ (audience shouts lots of diff things, I heard ‘no Katee’) *she shrugs* I didn’t say that. I don’t know what will happen.

NBC’s Vancouver-shot TV series Bionic Woman shut down November 9, says The Hollywood Reporter, well ahead of its scheduled December 12 close. This leaves Bionic several episodes short of a full season.
And local media reports indicate that the fourth season of Sci Fi Channel’s Battlestar Galactica, which was set to shoot through mid-March, will wrap Friday because it, too, has filmed their available scripts.

Variety is reporting that NBC has ordered three more scripts for each of its freshmen series Chuck, Bionic Woman, Life and Journeyman. This is a good show of confidence on NBC’s part and while there are no guarantees, this is a good sign that the network will pick up all four show for full seasons.
