SciFi Renews Eureka For Third Season For Summer 2008
September 28th, 2007 | 0 Comments | Email | Share | TweetSci Fi Channel has ordered a third season of its top-rated original series Eureka along with a second season of reality show Destination Truth. The network has ordered 13 new hourlong episodes of Eureka.
The show is set to begin production on Season 3 in Vancouver early next year for a summer 2008 premiere. Cast members Colin Ferguson, Salli Richardson, Joe Morton, Jordan Hinson and Ed Quinn and executive producers Jaime Paglia and Charlie Craig are returning the for the third season. Eureka is set in a Pacific Northwest town that is actually a secret community of geniuses assembled by the government to conduct top-secret research. Its July 18, 2006, premiere (4.2 million viewers) stands as the highest-rated telecast in Sci Fi history.
Meanwhile, the second season of Destination Truth is also slated to premiere in 2008 with six new episodes. The second season will again find Josh Gates searching for answers to some the world’s most notorious unexplained mysteries in even more exotic locales. This season, “Truth” will be executive produced by Brad Kuhlman (”1000 Places to See Before You Die”). The series “proved to be a great addition to our Wednesday night lineup and the perfect companion piece for ‘Ghost Hunters,’” Stern said. Sci Fi said the series brought in more than 1 million new viewers to the network over its six-week run in the summer.
