Welcome to Premiering Tonight, highlighing all the new and returning shows premiering on the Fall 2007 schedule.

Premiering tonight on TV are Bones, NCIS, House, Reaper, The Unit, Boston Legal, The Singing Bee, Cane, Law & Order: SVU.

Reaper – 9 pm/ET CW
The TV Remote’s Pick To Click

Slacker Sam Oliver (Bret Harrison) becomes a reluctant bounty hunter for the devil (Ray Wise) after his soul is accidentally sold to Satan by his parents. In the opener, he gets his first job: capturing a pyromaniacal demon that escaped from hell and must be returned to eternal damnation.

I have been waiting for Reaper. Directed and shaped by Kevin Smith, Reaper looks to be a great show. It looks smart and funny and as long as the show stays true to Smith’s vision, it should do well. Too bad Smith didn’t stay on to direct the entire season, but he is rumored to stay on as an executive producer.

Tuesdays have always been full nights of tv viewing for me and this season is no different. Reaper is my Pick To Click for tonight and it was a tough one. With House and The Unit also running at the 9 pm hour, my DVR is working overtime. So check out Reaper tonight on The CW at 9 pm/ET.

Bones – 8 pm/ET FOX

Brennan and Booth investigate a community suspected of having cannibalistic tendencies in the third-season opener. Meanwhile, Angela hires a private eye to find her ex, so she can get their marriage annulled.

Bones is just one of those shows I can just watch. It isn’t great, but it doesn’t suck. Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz and the rest of the cast are just entertaining to watch.

NCIS – 8 pm/ET CBS

In the fifth-season opener, the team has a devastating confrontation with La Grenouille (Armand Assante) that turns deadly.

Not a big fan of NCIS, and I would bet this will be it’s last season after the fallout star Mark Harmon had with show-runner Donald Bellisario resulting in Bellisario stepping down.

House – 9 pm/ET FOX

House is working solo (with some diagnostic help from a hospital janitor) as Season 4 begins. While Cuddy and Wilson nag him to hire a new team, he must treat a young woman who was injured in an explosion. But her injuries aren’t what’s killing her. Indeed, her repeated crises, each of which House treats successfully, seem to be caused by personal behaviors that baffle her boyfriend. Meanwhile, House’s new prized possession, a 1967 Gibson Flying V guitar, is missing.

Foreman, Chase and Cameron all left House last season. Now he is looking for a new group Survivor style. I would guess he is going to spend this episode dimissing all his interns as Foreman, Chase and Cameron are all returning to the show in the second episode.

The Unit – 9 pm/ET CBS

Part 1 of 2. The third season begins with Jonas being hunted by a government assassin while on the run in Panama. In Washington, D.C., Col. Ryan tries to learn who is behind the attempt to dismantle the Unit and learns the answer is closer to home than he suspected. Back on base, Tiffy visits a bitter Mack in prison in hopes of saving their crumbling marriage, and Kim packs up the kids and heads home to Texas.

This is a show I have been waiting to come back. The Unit was flipped completely upside down at the end of last season with Bob sent to find Jonas and bring him back, dead or alive.

Boston Legal – 9:30 pm/ET ABC

In the fourth-season premiere, John Larroquette joins the cast as senior partner Carl Sack, who immediately clashes with Denny after the latter is arrested. Meanwhile, Shirley needs Alan’s help when a university wants a donation, and Jerry assists another new attorney in a homicide case.

I never watched The Practice and never got into Boston Legal despite Shatner. This season bring John Larroquette back to court, this time without Harry, Bull and Roz. Larroquette is a great actor, add him to the already great cast with Spader, Shatner and Bergen and you have got to have a great show.

The Singing Bee – 9:30 pm/ET NBC

A karaoke-inspired competition in which contestants must finish the lyrics to popular songs once the band stops playing.

This show is terrible. The fact that is continues to be on the air mystifies me.

Cane – 10 pm/ET CBS

Jimmy Smits and Hector Elizondo star in this drama following a Cuban-American family with a rum and sugar business in Florida. It’s run by patriarch Pancho Duque (Elizondo), who, in the opener, announces that his health is failing, leading him to name a successor from among his sons.

Jimmy Smits back on television in a drama – that’s pretty good news. Nestor Carbonell from Lost also stars in this Cuban-American drama. This show has some great actors and I can’t imagine this show being anything but compelling.

Law & Order: SVU – 10 pm/ET NBC

Season 9 opens with the mystery surrounding a woman (Cynthia Nixon) with multiple personalities who may have harmed her infant daughter. As Stabler and Benson investigate the case, they discover the woman herself may have been abused as a child, resulting in her fractured psyche. Meanwhile, Munch is put in charge of the department after the captain is temporarily removed from duty. Bronson Pinchot guest stars.

The entire Law & Order franchise was on the ropes for coming back for more new seasons with Criminal Intent going over to USA. SVU is back for a 9th season tonight, which could be it’s last depending on how they fare with the ratings.
