As this show returns for a second season, Chef Gordon Ramsay returns to several Season 1 restaurants he helped in tonight’s two-hour opener. Like a teacher checking on students’ progress, Ramsay revisits eateries to see if they continued to do as he advised and evaluates their success. Among the places featured is Finn McCool’s, an Irish restaurant in the Hamptons. Originally, it was run by a feuding, overstressed family that was wallowing in $20,000 debt a month and serving subpar food until Ramsay helped them turn things around. Find out if they stayed the course or drowned.
NFL Football – 7 pm/ET NBC
It’s opening night off-Broadway, as the NFL season kicks off with the Super Bowl champion New York Giants hosting the Washington Redskins. Few are picking the Giants to repeat, but, hey, nobody picked them last season and they’re slipping on their Super Bowl rings tonight. The Redskins added former All-Pro DE Jason Taylor to a team that made the playoffs last season.
