60 Minutes – 7:00 PM/ET on CBS
The 42nd season begins with Lt. Gen. Stanley McChrystal discussing the war in Afghanistan. Also: repayments to victims of Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi scheme; the earning power of deceased celebrities, such as Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and Michael Jackson.

The Cleveland Show – 8:30 PM/ET on Fox
In the pilot of this Family Guy spin-off, Cleveland leaves Quahog with Cleveland Jr. for California. But he gets only as far his hometown, Stoolbend, Va., where he runs into his high-school flame, Donna Tubbs, a single mother of two kids who could really use a dad. Cleveland wants to try to woo Donna again, but standing in his way – as he did in high school – is her ne’er-do-well boyfriend Federline Jones.
Desperate Housewives – 9:00 PM/ET on ABC
Mike Delfino reveals his bride; Lynette faces another pregnancy; Bree struggles to free herself from both Orson and her inhibitions; Carlos’ teen niece (Maiara Walsh) moves in; another family with a dark past moves onto Wisteria Lane.
Dexter – 9:00 PM/ET on Showtime
Season 4 begins with Dexter a full-fledged family man with a wife, two stepchildren, a new baby and the same hankering to dole out justice to murderers who remain free. Special Agent Frank Lundy seeks his help with a homicidal maniac who’s been dubbed the Trinity Killer because he kills in threes.
Family Guy – 9:00 PM/ET on Fox
Stewie and Brian tour parallel universes using a special remote control. Included: a place where dogs are in charge and humans are pets; a “Flintstone”-esque society; a place where Japan won World War II; and a world where everyone has two heads, one happy and one sad.
American Dad – 9:30 PM/ET on Fox
Steve is chosen to sing the national anthem at the Langley Falls Veterans’ Day celebration, but Stan doesn’t think he’s ready for it. He thinks that Steve must experience real war first, like the one Stan experienced in Vietnam. Meanwhile, Stan won’t give Roger the pay-per-view code numbers to watch a Barbra Streisand special.
Brothers and Sisters – 10:00 PM/ET on ABC
In the fourth-season premiere, Nora and Holly become reluctant partners in planning an engagement party for Rebecca and Justin. Meanwhile, Sarah takes a business trip to France, and Kitty ponders divulging disturbing news in already turbulent times.
Californication – 10:00 PM/ET on Showtime
Season 3 opens as Hank’s hands become increasingly full with Becca pushing the boundaries of independence and rebellion. In other events, Hank accepts a teaching position at a local college; and Charlie moves back in with Marcy despite the two being in the middle of a divorce.
Cold Case – 10:00 PM/ET on CBS
The seventh season opens with the team investigating the 1966 shipboard murder of a young woman traveling in steerage on a luxury ocean liner who was believed to have committed suicide by jumping overboard. But new evidence indicates otherwise. The trial of a military academy official who attempted to harm Lilly begins.
