September 24th, 2009 | 0 Comments | Email | Share | TweetThe 2009 Fall Season is upon us and that signals the return of Premiering Tonight. Welcome to Premiering Tonight, highlighting all the new and returning shows premiering on the Fall 2009 schedule.
Premiering tonight on TV are the season premieres of FlashForward, CSI, Grey’s Anatomy and The Mentalist.
FlashForward – 8:00 PM/ET on ABC
In the series premiere, everyone on Earth blacks out for exactly two minutes and 17 seconds, during which they see snippets from their futures six months ahead. For FBI agent Mark Benford (Joseph Fiennes) and his partner, Demetri Noh (John Cho), the event occurs during a high-speed chase and they find themselves investigating the phenomenon. Meanwhile, Benford’s wife, Olivia (Sonya Walger), a doctor, wakes up on the floor of the OR.
CSI – 9:00 PM/ET on CBS
The 10th season begins with one of the most bizarre openings in its history. The CSIs are seen frozen in time, some in midair, inside the lab, which is in disarray with corpses scattered about. A couple of lab techs appear to be shot, and Ray, apparently, is kicking a thug through a glass wall. Flash backward 48 hours and a story unfolds that begins with the death of a starlet who perishes in a traffic accident. The evidence suggests it was no accident but rather murder. Sara Sidle returns to help out the lab, which is understaffed due to Riley’s abrupt departure.
Grey’s Anatomy – 9:00 PM/ET on ABC
With George’s death overwhelming everyone, his mother (Debra Monk) arrives but can’t decide what to do with his organs. Also arriving at the hospital: a British backpacker who lost an arm in a speedboat accident; and a 15-year-old whose previous doctor diagnosed him with “growing pains.” Meanwhile, Derek gets a proposition from the hospital board; and staffers look for diversions from their grief (Derek and Meredith find one in bed). Mitch Pileggi returns as board chairman Larry Jennings. For the chief, this is not good news.
The Mentalist – 10:00 PM/ET on CBS
In the second-season opener, the Red John case is taken away from the team and given to another CBI team, led by Sam Bosco (Terry Kinney).
