The 2009 Fall Season is upon us and that signals the return of Premiering Tonight. Welcome to Premiering Tonight, highlighting all the new and returning shows premiering on the Fall 2009 schedule.

Premiering tonight on TV are the season premieres of Heroes, House, Castle, Dancing With The Stars, How I Met Your Mother, Accidentally On Purpose, Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory and CSI: Miami.

House – 8:00 PM/ET on Fox
Season 6 begins with House as a detoxing patient at a mental hospital. He’s being held against his will by his attending physician but concocts an escape plan, aided by his roommate, Alvie, and a visitor named Lydia.

Heroes – 8:00 PM/ET on NBC
Claire garners attention at college following an odd death in the fourth-season premiere. Elsewhere, Angela worries Nathan will discover his real identity; Matt has a surprise visitor; Tracy and Noah team up to investigate a crime; and a friend asks Peter for help.

Dancing with the Stars – 8:00 PM/ET on ABC
The ninth-season opener begins with and two hour show and 16 celebrities, the show’s largest cast ever. Competitors include Donny Osmond, Melissa Joan Hart, Michael Irvin and Chuck Liddell. On the first night of competition, the male celebrities perform.

How I Met Your Mother – 8:00 PM/ET on CBS
In the fifth-season opener, the friends discover that Barney and Robin are secretly a couple; and Ted stresses over his first lecture as a Columbia professor.

Accidentally On Purpose – 8:30 PM/ET on CBS
Jenna Elfman is Billie, a single woman who ends her romance with her boss (Grant Show) and, in the opener, has a fling with a younger guy (Jon Foster). Billie gets pregnant, then decides to keep her baby and invite the father to live with her as friends.

Two and a Half Men – 9:00 PM/ET on CBS
In the seventh-season opener, Mia’s reappearance has Charlie doubting his love for Chelsea, and he has to decide between the two women. Eddie Van Halen has a cameo.

The Big Bang Theory – 9:30 PM/ET on ABC
In the third-season opener, Sheldon feels betrayed when his friends alter his arctic-expedition data, so he takes off for Texas. The guys follow him, which kills Leonard’s chance for a romantic meeting with Penny.

Castle – 10:00 PM/ET on ABC
In the Season 2 opener, Kate and Castle are still at odds over his interference in her personal life, but the pair must work together when a man is found dead in a tree. Meanwhile, Castle struggles to finish his latest novel under the pressure of a looming deadline.

CSI: Miami – 10:00 PM/ET on CBS
The eighth season begins with Delko fighting for his life after being discovered unconscious in the Everglades. Meanwhile, Horatio recalls how his team first came together 12 years earlier while working a homicide investigation involving a woman who was shot and later discovered by Delko in the trunk of a car.
