The Casting Call brings together the latest casting news to keep you informed on who is showing up on which show. Find out who is joining your favorite show as a series regular, a recurring character, a guest star or special cameo. The Casting Call could reveal upcoming story-lines, so be aware, there may be spoilers ahead.

Brothers and Sisters (ABC)
Jon Tenney (The Closer) has been cast in a guest role. He will play Nora’s (Sally Field) new boyfriend Simon. Tenney is signed on for four episodes begining November 8. Nora meets Simon, who is an oncologist at the hospital where Kitty is getting treated, and they start an affair. Tenney will first make his appearance in an episode that finds Nora and Sarah throwing a wig party for bald chemo patient Kitty.

Game of Thrones (HBO)
Jason Momoa (Stargate Atlantis) has joined the HBO pilot, based on George R.R. Martin’s fantasy book series A Song of Ice and Fire. He will play Drogo, a powerful warlord who has never been defeated in battle. Moma joins Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Sean Bean, Jennifer Ehle, Jack Gleeson, Peter Dinklage and Harry Lloyd.

Glee (Fox)
Jonathan Groff has been cast in the show for a five to six episode arc. He will play the lead male singer of Vocal Adrenaline, the group already seen performing Rehab and Mercy. Groff’s character is a male diva and will also serve as a potential love interest for Michele’s Rachel.

House (Fox)
Sasha Alexander (NCIS) is join the show for a guest role. She will play House and Wilson’s new neighbor when the duo moves to a new place next month. Both doctors will develop a crush on their new neighbor. Alexander is signed on for just one episode, scheduled to air in late 2009/early 2010.

Smallville (The CW)
Hawkman and Doctor Fate will both be joining the Justice Society. Michael Shanks (Stargate SG-1) has been cast as Hawkman. Doctor Fate will be played by Brent Stait (Andromeda). A third new member of the Justice Society will be Courtney Whitmore, AKA Stargirl, played by Britt Irvin (Aliens in America).

ABC Picks Up Castle For Full Second Season

ABC has given a full-season coronation to Castle, picking up the sophomore series’ back nine episodes. The show has aired five episodes so far this season, and has shown a slight uptick in recent weeks. Castle has also improved its timeslot against last year at this time by 4% in adults 18-49. And when DVR playback is added in, the show’s viewership rises by 1.6 million, and its 18-49 rating improves by 26%.

The show stars Nathan Fillion as a novelist who helps a police detective (Stana Katic) solve crimes. Show also stars Susan Sullivan, Molly Quinn, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Tamala Jones, Jon Huertas and Seamus Dever. Andrew Marlowe is executive producer, along with Rob Bowman, Rene Echevarria, Laurie Zaks and Armyan Bernstein.

NBC Orders Losing It With Jillian

NBC has ordered Losing It With Jillian, a companion series for The Biggest Loser starring trainer Jillian Michaels. She will travel the country showing weight-challenged Americans that they can get the same results as contestants on The Biggest Loser without attending the show’s immersive fitness boot camp. The show also will feature celebrity chef Curtis Stone, who will offer the families a nutritional plan and cooking tips.

Disney Channel Renews The Suite Life For Third Season

Disney Channel has renewed The Suite Life on Deck for a third season. Production on the comedy will resume in Hollywood in early 2010. The show stars Dylan Sprouse and Cole Sprouse as identical twins Zack and Cody Martin who spend a semester at sea with hotel heiress London Tipton (Brenda Song) aboard the luxurious SS Tipton. The show ranks No.1 among kids 6-11 and posted series highs in total viewers (6.8 million) earlier this month. Pamela Eells O’Connell and Irene Dreayer are executive producing.

Dallas Sequel Series Looking To Get JR And Sue Ellen

TV Guide Magazine is reporting that Warner Brothers has contacted Larry Hagman and Linda Gray to reprise their roles of J.R. and Sue Ellen Ewing in the new Dallas sequel series. The new show, which is in development for TNT, would focus on their son, John Ross, and Pam and Bobby’s son, Christopher.

TLC Suing Jon Gosselin

TLC has filed a lawsuit against Jon Gosselin for allegedly breaching his contract as a star of Jon and Kate Plus 8. The lawsuit alleges that Gosselin has failed to meet his obligations as an exclusive employee of the network, while appearing on rival networks’ programs for pay and making unauthorized public disclosures about the show. The suit is seeking unspecified compensatory damages and demanding he return income gained as a result of his breaches of the agreement, as well as to refrain from future violations of his contractual agreement.

Gosselin has starred since 2007 on the weekly Jon and Kate Plus 8, a ratings hit for the network that has been rocked in recent months by marital turmoil as Gosselin and his wife, Kate, feuded, then filed for divorce.
