October Road Creators Hope To Finish Their Story

TV Guide is reporting that October Road may have an ending despite being canceled by ABC. Co-creators Scott Rosenberg, Josh Appelbaum and AndrĂ© Nemec wrote a 15-minute finale called “Don’t Look Back: An Epilogue for an Epic Love.” The story will start at the wedding of Hannah (Laura Prepon) and Big Cat (Warren Christie), and then flash forward seven years, where fans will receive answers to most of their remaining questions. The plan is to include the epilogue on the second-season DVD and possibly online.

After two seasons on the Road, even the cast wants closure. “I don’t know who Sam’s father is, so I am just as excited to find out as the fans are,” says Bryan Greenberg (Nick). And although the shooting schedule is still up in the air, there’s one thing you can count on, says Lindy Booth (Pizza Girl): “We all love the show, so we’ll all be there.”

This is great news for October Road fans. I know I was disappointed at the show not getting picked up for another season. There are so many things left open when the second season ended. Hopefully this small finale gets made and released, give Road fans a little closure. I think this idea of a 15 minute epilogue is a great idea and I think more canceled shows that run their full season should have a chance to wrap things up. Imagine if some great shows like Surface and Invasion had 15 to answer all the questions they thought they would answer in the next season and beyond.
