NBC Renews Law And Order: SVU For Eleventh Season
April 14th, 2009 | 3 Comments | Email | Share | TweetAfter lengthy talks, NBC has renewed Law & Order: Special Victims Unit for an 11th season. The two stars of the show, Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni, still have no deals to return. The two, who regularly negotiate their contracts together, only started talks with the network last week.
In 2007 Hargitay and Meloni signed two-year deals that brought their paychecks up to about $350,000 an episode. But as the networks are trimming costs because of the recession and slipping primetime ratings, with NBC in the forefront of the budget cuts, getting raises will be much more difficult this time around.

These two not very talented actors should be gratefull to get as much as they do. I say replace them if they won’t see reason or put on fewer episodes, other shows have fewer than 22 episodes why not 16 like the much underrated Criminal Intent, whos actors have not received a raise for two seasons, without complaints. The people behind the scenes might like more money they certainly don’t get anywhere near 350,000 but they work for less and make do, these two selfish people should wake up and look down from their ivory tower, we are all suffering in these hard times they are not being reasonable at all, and I hope Dick Wolf and NBC puts them in their places, no raise.
you suck! why the hell do you think they get a raise… cause they’re so well liked and good! you just an evil pesimistic bitch with a mouth to match! Criminal Intent is crap!
not only are they well liked in usa but also all along latinamerica, on cable tv. hargitay´s role mght not be my favorite, for she is prejudiced as a detective with her rape-product attitude; but stabler is moving in his total humanity…he suffers, he endures,he is loyal, he is reliable (because you know what he stands for–no crap)…these two along with ice-t who is wonderful in his tough-guy pretense, but soft as a marshmallow inside….munch is great in his stress-relief role…cragen needs a date, but he is resilient, and human….this is the charm we viewers look for….reality put in film…people like us…the other shows portray superhumans…we viewe4rs are too far away from that—no bounds, no ties….
