NBC is serious about finding a successor to departing medical drama ER. The network gave out a director-contingent pilot order to another medical drama, Trauma. Written by Dario Scardapane, Trauma is described as a high-octane emergency medical procedural that takes place out in the field. Universal Media Studios is producing with Peter Berg’s Film 44. Berg and Scardapane are executive producing. This comes a day after NBC picked up another medical-themed pilot Mercy.
