Mandy Patinkin Leaving Criminal Minds
July 13th, 2007 | 6 Comments | Email | Share | TweetCBS’ Criminal Minds could return for a third season without Mandy Patinkin. This week the star didn’t show up for the drama’s table read (an initial run-through of the script), which first was reported by E!. Sources said that the episode had been written featuring few scenes with Patinkin, an indication that the show is preparing for a possible future without him. Rumblings about friction between Patinkin and “Minds” producers first surfaced last summer. It is customary after the second season of a hit show for the stars to renegotiate their deals and get sizable salary bumps. CBS has been tough when it comes to negotiating with stars on its crime procedural dramas and briefly fired “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’s” George Eads and Jorja Fox in 2004.

Mandy will leave one big hole in the show . He is one of the best tv actors of this age of crimminal shows. I know he does not have to worry about being pick for tv and movie movies. Hey its your loss
A huge loss!!!!!!!!! His character and the way he portrayed him is one of the big reasons why I watch the show.It just won`t be the same. Very sad. Man its one of the only two shows I actually watch on tv,the other being CSI Las Vegas.
I agree. I don’t see how the show will last without him, even with Joe Mantegna coming on board.
It simply escapes me why some stars jump off the horse just when it runs it’s best & fastest!!! Mandy must have fell down those stairs after taking to much of his Crestor(R) Cholesterol Medication.
Mandy will be greatly missed. The show is great and the team is great. It just won’t be the same with out Mandy… Best of all thats good to Mandy!
I will miss Mandy on the show. His input was a lot different than the rest of the cast. Character study was one of the reasons I watched the show. Joe Mantegna doesn’t look like he will fill Mandy’s shoes.
