Ian Somerhalder Sinks His Teeth Into Vampire Diaries Lead

Ian Somerhalder has joined the cast of the CW’s drama pilot Vampire Diaries. The show, based on a series of books from Alloy Entertainment, centers on a woman who falls for two vampire brothers – one good and one evil. Somerhalder is set to play Damon, a smug vampire who can go from playful to evil in a split second.

Also cast in the pilot are Michael Trevino, Katerina Graham, Sarah Carey, Zach Roerig, Candice Accola and Kayla Ewell. Graham will play Elena’s best friend, while Carey will play Elena’s aunt. Roerig will play Elena’s former boyfriend, while Accola will play her rival. Trevino will play a cocky jock, with Ewell playing his troubled girlfriend.
