February 22nd, 2008 | 0 Comments | Email | Share | TweetCBS said Thursday that it will put such library TV shows as Star Trek and The Twilight Zone on the Web through its Audience Network. The company said it will stream full-length episodes of old titles on a free, ad-supported basis. The shows will be syndicated across the CBS Audience Network, which encompasses more than 300 destinations, including AOL, Microsoft, CNET Networks and Comcast.
In addition to the first three seasons of the original Star Trek and the first two seasons of Twilight Zone, CBS also will initially stream Season 1 of MacGyver, Hawaii Five-O and Melrose Place. It will add more programs and clips in the coming months. The shows will be distributed in the “same open, nonexclusive strategy CBS has been using for its content online for the last nine months,” the company said.
